Magicka turns one
Paradox has reminded everyone that co-op RPG Magicka has turned one-year old today. The game has reached 1.3 million sales since it released, with expansion Magicka: Vietnam hitting 500,000 as of its launch last April. Various bits of DLC have been download 4 million times, according to Paradox. A new expansion for the game, The Other Side of the Coin, will allow players to play as the enemy.

Magicka moves 1.3 million units, new expansion on the way
Paradox Interactive announced during its convention in Stockholm that Magicka has sold 1.3 million copies since it released on January 25, 2011. The game’s DLC has also moved 4 million units, and Magicka Vietnam in particular moved 500,000 units. The firm also announced a new expansion pack is in the works for the game called The Other Side of the Coin, which allows the player to try their hand at playing the game from the enemy’s perspective. Arrowhead’s last expansion for Magicka, The Stars Are Left, a Lovecraftian inspired adventure, was released back in November. Thanks, StrategyInformer.

OnLive adding six more indie titles to the service this fall
OnLive has announced it is to bring six additional indie titles to the service this fall: Orcs Must Die, Limbo, Magicka, Bastion, Space Chem, and Avadon: The Black Fortress. According to the press release, via Joystiq: “OnLive has long been a supporter of independent publishers. Simply put, they’re making some really great, innovative games these days.” The service’s library already includes: Braid, Trine, World of Goo and The Maw.

Paradox planning on Magicka for XBL, says new Syndicate is more like “GTA”
Paradox Interactive seems like a wacky place to work. Not Marx Brothers wacky by any means, but only wacky due to the firm’s apparent sense of humor. Proof of this odd sort of thinking can be found in the firm’s list of upcoming titles, and some it’s passed on. Yes, this is the same firm which released Stalin vs Martians, but, there are some things out there that are just too dotty even by Paradox’s standards.

Two new Magicka challenge maps hitting April 26, you decide which one will be free
Arrowhead has announced two more challenge maps for Magicka set for release on April 26. The Marshlands and Caverns will run $1.99 each, but publisher Paradox will release one for free. You, the players, will decide which one is released free next week by voting for it on the official Facebook page for the game. To help you decide, there’s a video posted below.
