ESA lobbying spend up 25% in 2008
ESA spent 25 percent more on lobbying in 2008 than it did in 2007, up to a record $4,233,864.50 for the year.
In the fourth quarter, the US industry body spent a total of $1,137,500, which breaks down to $980,000 on direct efforts and $157,000 for the services of four firms.
Spending in the latter half-year saw a 36.1 percent increase over the previous 12 months.

ESA spends $714,000 on lobbying in Q1
According to this AP report, the ESA spent $714,000 lobbying the Federal Government in the first quarter of this year.
Besides Congress, the group lobbied the Patent and Trademark Office, US Copyright Office, Commerce Department, US Trade Representative, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission and other agencies in the first three months of 2008.
