Llamasoft has announced that Jeff Minter’s Gridrunner+++ will be released at the end of April on XBLA.
“Gridrunner+++ (working title; the final title will likely involve less plusses) is a fast-paced extrapolation of the oldschool single-screen shooter, brought brilliantly into the 21st century with beautiful abstract visuals and intense, challenging but fair gameplay accessible on a variety of levels from novice to twitch-shooter expert, ” says the release.
“Gridrunner+++ will be released at the end of April.”
So there you have it.
Oh, and before we forget Llamasoft has also informed us that PC Gamer gave Space Giraffe 92 percent.

Llamasoft’s Jeff Minter has told Eurogamer that his next game, Gridrunner+++, is complete: Microsoft’s been “sitting” on its release.
“We sent it off to [Microsoft] months ago, but they’ve just not said anything – we’re just waiting for them,” he said.
“Basically I’m going to carry on with the PC version of it if I don’t hear from them soon, because they’re just sitting on the demo we sent them three or four months ago. We haven’t heard a thing.”
Minter added that he was disappointed with Space Giraffe’s reception on XBLA.
“The thing with Xbox Live is that you have to basically get a lot done in the first couple of weeks, then the game goes into a bit of obscurity after that,” he said.
“We actually had some very favourable reviews of Space Giraffe, and if you look around, most of them aren’t bad. It’s just most of them came out too late, and by the time the better reviews came out, the game was already off the front page [of Xbox Live]. So it was just a bit spoiled for us, really.”

Llamasoft’s released the PC version of odd shooter Space Giraffe. Get the demo here.
Apparently the new version isn’t as “overwhelming” as the 360 title.
“This is more than just a copy of the Xbox 360 game,” says the press release. “In the intervening time the development of the Neon engine has continued, and we now have a lovely new shader library.
“These new shaders have been used to create a NUXX mix of Space Giraffe which is at once much nicer-looking than the original, and alsoless intensely psychedelic (one criticism of SG 360 was that some of the effects were *too* intense; accordingly the new mix is beautiful and abstract without being quite so overwhelming).”
As you will. You can buy it here.

According to this Eurogamer story, Llamasoft’s released a PC version of Space Giraffe at $20 a pop.
“It is a joyous time of year full of sexy reindeer, inebriated bearded fellows with rosy cheeks and distended sacks, and wanton consumerism gone wild,” said Jeff Minter.
“What better time to cheer up the entire world with the release of a new videogame. We at Llamasoft are dedicated to our ongoing mission to make the world a better place for everybody.”
There’s no link to a place to download the wierdy shooter through there, and we can’t find mention of it on the Llamasoft website/ So good luck finding it.
Update: It’s not out till next week Eurogamer, you div. Thanks, tenthousandgothsonacid.
