Left 4 Dead 2 for Linux public beta coming this week

Valve is set to launch the Left 4 Dead 2 beta on Linux this week. Those who already own the Steam version of the game will receive access soon, alongside the Extended Mutation System that has been available since February.

Runner 2 now in certification for PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360

BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner 2 – Future Legend of Rhythm Alien has been sent to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony for certification, Gaijin Games has announced. The firm this was “by far the most ambitious submission process Gaijin has ever done, ” and next on the certification list are the PC, Mac, and Linux versions. Linux requirements appear for some Steam games

New Linux nVidia drivers available now

Graphics driver updates aren’t in our usual style but with the launch of the Steam Linux beta today it seems like a good time to be giving your open-source computer a bit of a spruce up. NVidia has released a new set of R310 drivers for a significant range of products, which it claims can “double the performance and dramatically reduce game loading times for those gaming on the Linux operating system”. The drivers were developed in collaboration with Valve and other Linux-friendly developers, and Doug Lombardi called them “an absolutely unequalled solution for Linux gamers”.
