American gamers got a nice bonus from Ubisoft today with news that those who pre-order Prince of Persia will be upgraded to the game’s Limited Edition for free.

There’s a press release on Team Xbox. There’s still no date other than “Holiday 2008,” but there is a picture of the Limited Edition box, which includes:

• Collectable Limited Edition packaging
• An exclusive look at the making of Prince of Persia
• A Prima® digital mini-strategy guide full of developer’s secrets to help players master the year’s best action-adventure game
• A digital art book that chronicles the game’s journey from concept to winner of Best Artistic Design at E3 2008 . The original soundtrack scored by master composer Inon Zur

The first images of the European limited edition of Metal Gear Solid 4 have sneaked out, and it looks like a box with some pictures on it. A nice box with some pictures on it, but there we are. The shots are here and here.

Konami’s just confirmed the MGS4 limited edition for the UK and also that anyone pre-ordering the title will receive the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD.

“This seven-part documentary details the origins of previous Metal Gear games and the evolution of Hideo Kojima’s epic series,” said the press release. “This gripping documentary offers a valuable insight into the series and the history of Metal Gear’s iconic hero, Snake.”

The limited edition costs £80, as previously confirmed by Play.

Play.com is listing the Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots box set thus confirming the rumours that surfaced yesterday.

The Limited Edition will include:

• 6″ Old Snake ‘Olive Drab’ action figure
• “The Making Of Metal Gear Solid 4″ documentary on Blu-ray Disc
• Official Metal Gear Solid 4 soundtrack

The price is £79.99, approximately €101.

Metal gear Solid 4 is set for a worldwide release on June 12. Apparently you can’t play MGO if you get the special edition from Japan or the US, so this sorts you out. Assuming you haven’t already pre-ordered it, obviously.
