The kit contains anew story mode, five new levels, two mini games, products from the “infamous Muppet Labs” and plenty of decorations, stickers, objects, music tracks, sound effects, and voices.

It also includes seven new trophies, 12 new pins and a Rowlf the Dog bonus costume.

Also, the new glowing blue Attract-O-Gel material from Muppet Labs allows Sackboy to walks across the walls and on the ceilings, and the lab’s Attract-O-Tweak gadget can be used to provide “sticky properties” to any material.

The pack includes nine new levels, two new tracks, one interactive track, a new background, new materials and decorations.

Costumes included in the pack include: Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Rex Claws.

Over on the blog, it was also announced that the LittleBigPlanet Contraption Challenge has returned, and this time players are being asked to construct a working submarine.

Also, the next LBP costume is hitting the store on April 27. It’s the Tron: Evolution Minipack and it will run you €2.99 / £2.39. In the pack you’ll get two brand new costumes, plus a batch of new stickers. In May, the Killzone 3 Minipack will be released.

Last week, the Even More Animals costume pack was released, and soon a Killzone 3 minipack featuring Rico and a Hazmat Trooper will be released. Newt week, folks will get three pairs of costumes based on Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly & Bentley in celebration of Move Heroes release. Each pack of two will be on sale for €2.99 / £2.39.

Next month, players will be able to “get into The Grid,” with the Tron: Evolution minipack. It features characters from the game and contains contains the costumes Anon and Abraxas, plus Tron-themed stickers.

Finally, word on the Move expansion pack is that it will be coming later in the year, with more details coming soon.

Sorry we missed this earlier in the week, but with all the hoopla surrounding Sony’s announcement of NGP, hopefully you can forgive us for not telling you about LittleBigPlanet getting its very own Wiki.

The announcement was made over on the game’s forums on Monday, and the wiki was put together by a team of community members which will also be moderating it.

Sony has released two new videos: one of  its newest LBP2 Kevin Butler TV spot, and another for just LittleBigPlanet 2.

Sony is promoting the game in other ways as well, through not only the Guinness Book of World Records, but 7-Eleven as well.

From now through the end of February, you can drop into 7-Eleven stores in the US to get your hands on one of two limited edition Sackboy Slurpee cups and collect codes redeemable for exclusive downloadable items for LPB2.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is out on January 18 in the US and January 21 in the UK.

Sony has confirmed a GAME listing, which shows a LittleBigPlanet 2 PS3 bundle hitting at release.

The bundle contains a 320Gb PS3 with the game for £291.05.

Looks to be plenty of the Collector’s Edition and Move Starter Pack Bundles available on the retailer site for LBP2 as well.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is out on January 18 in the US and January 21 in the UK, and will contain sponsored content from Toyota.

SCEA is having a bit of fun with LittleBigPlanet leading up to its January 18 launch.

For starters, its parodied the latest Kevin Butler ad using the new LBP2 machinima tools.

SCEA is also sending out two sets of voucher codes to the LBP community. Check your e-mail in-boxes this week for codes on Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves and the expanded beta for LBP2.

The US PS Blog has also been handing out beta codes on the site, so you may want to check there as well – providing your fingers are fast enough.

As promised earlier in the month, Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves  has landed on PSN for US PS Plus members (just like our cousins in Europe) and if you are not a Plus member, you will be able to get the game on December 14 for $5.99.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is out next month, and to get you ready for it, there’s a couple videos floating around out there you really need to watch.

Media Molecule has put up an adorable check list of things to do before LittleBigPlanet 2 hits stores on January 18.

An while the list includes really fun things to look forward to like LBP2 wrapping paper, and a new Kevin Butler commercial, the list also reminds us that final phase testing for the game is this month and new invites will be handed out next week.

The online beta has also bee updated so as to test the new voice recording features. There’s a handy-dandy tutorial of that posted below for you.

On the list is also a reminder of the PSN demo which will hit the service on December 22.

Sony has posted another video for LittleBigPlanet 2, this one focusing on the Grabinator.

It’s awesome, because it allows you to “grab things, carry things, throw things”, like humans and Sackboy are wont to do.

Sony has posted over on the EU PS Blog some concept art showing how LittleBigPlanet’s Sackboy evolved from being a walking yellow and pink square to lovable fella he is today.

Through the second link there, you’ll find and interview with MM’s Kareem Ettouney and Francis Pang who revealed how when LBP was pitched to Sony, her was nothing more than “debug programmer art called YellowHead”.

There’s also a video, which we’ve posted below, showing a concept reel of various Sackboy deaths. Poor little bugger.

LBP2 is in closed beta at the moment, and currently slated for release in January, and it was announced today Europe would be getting a Collector’s Edition.

Sony has released a really neat video for LittleBigPlanet 2 which shows off those adorable Sackbots.

LBP2 was originally set for release in November, but it’s been moved to January 2011 because, according to Alex Evans, not all PS3s are connected to the internet and capable of receiving a patch.

Media Molecule has posted a LittleBigPlanet update over on the US PS Blog, and it chats a bit about the second phase of the US beta for LBP2, the addition of Bounce Pads, LBP PSP story levels, and more.

Get some highlights below the break.

First off, the second leg of the US beta is slated to kick off next week. It will be a small phase, with invites going to “a special mix of LBP contributors, DLC owners and PlayStation Plus members”, so keep a close eye on your e-mail in case there’s a beta code in it.

More beta phases are “in the works” so if you don’t get in next week, better luck on phase three.

Posted below, you’ll see a video featuring Bounce Pads for LittleBigPlanet 2. It looks rather neat.

On the PSP community side of things, there’s a new project coming called Kindred, which is “a collaborative project that introduces a brand new story level series to the PSP community.” It was developed by Creators over on LBPCentral, and there’s a tease trailer for it below.

Media Molecule said during its LittleBigPlanet 2 session at the Eurogamer Expo today, the game will ship with a multi-level Move demo to show players how the controller will work with the game.

Move is expected to be patched into LBP2 once the game’s released in January.

“With the main game there will be an extra game – possibly on another disc, maybe on the same disk – that will contain 10-ish levels that demonstrate how Move could work with LittleBigPlanet 2,” Media Molecule’s community manager James Spafford said.

“And shortly after release we’ll do a full DLC pack that’s purely Move, and we’ll give away the free controls so people can make their own Move levels as well.”

During the session, the developers also showed the game’s new reward system based around pins for community level builders, which is due to problems associated with Trophy offerings. Players will also have their own camera this time out, and spoke a bit more about tools like the Grabinator gloves and the Creatinator helmet.

Media Molecule said earlier in the session it was pleased with the understanding fans expressed when the studio announced the delay of the game into 2011.

Media Molecule has said it’s pleased with fan reaction to the delay of LittleBigPlanet 2, stating it appreciates the solidarity and understanding the community has expressed over the slip into 2011.

Anything is better than death threats, we reckon.

Speaking during a development session at the Eurogamer Expo today, community manager Tom Kiss said the delay will allow the developers to make the game “so much better”.

“It was disappointing about the delay,” he said, “but it’s all good because it’s going to be so much better. We can polish it it the level we want it to be.”

“We wouldn’t slip a game to make it worse,” added community manager James “Spaff” Spafford. “It’s unfortunate, but our community has been really understanding. It’s great because we all feared we would get shouted at quite a lot. But everyone was just like, fair enough, I’d rather the game is better.

“Our community is really awesome. The core community is creative at heart. All of them have got a basic level of creativity, which makes them really interesting [and] they’re just really nice. They send us lots of art and make lots of cool things outside of the game even.

“They sent us biscuits, and they’re like, ‘I hope you’re okay. Don’t work too hard. Have some tea’. We Tweeted we’d run out of tea once, and loads of people sent us tea, which was nice.”

Sony has said those in the US will be able to participate in the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta “in a few weeks”.

Earlier this week, Sony posted on the community forums those “who’ve been really active in LittleBigPlanet” will be the first to get invites, and according to today’s post on the US PS Blog the first set of invites when out to Europe only.

“Globally, we’re taking steps to best test our server environment, so we’re distributing beta codes in phases,” said Sony. “The first phase of testing started earlier this week with our European LBP community.

“In a few weeks, we’ll be growing the participant base with US and other countries. More news to come.”

In the meantime, to keep you up to speed on all the new nuggets in LBP2, Sony’s introducing a series of LittleBigPlanet 2 Featurettes highlighting some of the new features.

The first entry in the series focused on the new Grappling Hook, which we posted for you here.

So, the long and short of it is: don’t despair. You’ll get your chance at the beta soon if you’re lucky.

Marvel has announced LittleBigPlanet will be the proud recipient of its Costume Pack 4 on August 17.

It will contain Hulk, Storm, Green Goblin, Magneto, and the Punisher.

We can’t decide if we like Hulk or Green Goblin the best, to be honest.

Packs 1 – 3 are already available, and include: Iron Man, Thing, Mystique, Daredevil, Doctor Octopus, Thor, Spider-Man, Human Torch, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Captain America, Invisible Woman, Rogue, Venom and Wolverine.

All packs will run you $5.99 each or $1.99 individually.

Marvel has revealed on its official site the second LittleBigPlanet Marvel Character Pack will land on PSN July 20.

Spider-Man was revealed the other day, along with a hint regarding the Human Torch.

Today, while browsing the site, we got to see cute renditions of Ghost Rider, Elektra, and Thor.

Marvel Pack 1 hit PSN last week and included: Iron Man,Thing, Mystique, Daredevil and Doctor Octopus.

Marvel has announced on its official site that Marvel Costume Pack 2 will hit PSN on July 20.

Included in the pack is Spider-Man and four other Marvel characters.

Another character, being called “hot hot hot”,  is to be revealed tomorrow which makes us suspect it’s the Human Torch, a.k.a Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four.

All Marvel costume packs will be compatible with LBP2 when its released, just in case you were curious.

More news on the Marvel Level Kit, Marvel Super Hero and Super Villain costumes is expected over the coming weeks.

Marvel has announced that starting July 7, the Marvel Super Hero and Super villain costumes for your Sackboys and Sackgirls will be made available for LBP.

Marvel will start unveiling art and information for the Sackpersons June 28 on its official site and are to release content every other week on PSN.

Four different Marvel Costume Packs will be made available, and each contains five different costumes.

The Marvel Level Kit, which includes “four levels of adventure pitting your Sackpeople against the evil plans of Magneto” will be made available as well, and you’ll get to collect an assortment of “Marvel-themed music, objects, materials, and stickers” along with a special “Rooftop” background.

All sounds rather neat, honestly, and it’s about time.

Media Molecule’s Alex Evans has said that sometime after LBP2 is released, the firm will put out a patch that will contain creation tools for the controller.

Speaking with Joystiq, Evans said that LBP2 will allow you to use Move at launch, but once the patch is released to create levels with Move, you will be able to use the Direct Control Seat to decide how Move affects your level – just like with the Sixaxis.

“Our philosophy is anything we do, we have to give to the community so they can use it in their own levels,” he said. “For us, I think the Direct Control Seat is the obvious answer to how to use Move.

“So, right now, players can use the Direct Control Seat to decide how the Sixaxis affects your level, and we’d like to do the same thing for the Move. We have something like that internally, but it’s not fully built. We’re working with another studio to help us prototype out what Move could be, and those levels will be on the disc at launch, to show players what they’ll be able to build.

“Then what we’ll do after launch is release a patch and we’ll add the creative tools, so what we’ll do is put these Move levels on the disc at launch, which, most people play LittleBigPlanet, and not everyone wants to create. But give us a little bit more time, we’ll put the create tools in, and then the community can run with Move.

“And I’m really looking forward to that point, because then it’s not our problem to create Move levels anymore. We can build some to inspire people, like with the Sixaxis.

The community can choose the mapping, like, what I really look forward to is, are they going to build cursor-based games, are they going to build gesture-based games? They have the choice eventually, and that’s our high bar with Move. We didn’t want to set a low bar with it, and tack it on the side. We wanted it to be a fully fledged citizen like the Sixaxis”.

Move is slated for September, with LBP2 hitting sometime this November.

A Beta is expected “fairly soon” as well.

Sony has announced over on the US PS Blog, that some ModNation-centric stickers and a costume for LBP will hit on May 25.

That’s the day the make-your-own racer hits shops in the US, ya know.

For $1.99, you’ll get a special ModNation Racers “Tag” costume for your Sackboy and some extra stickers.

There will also be a free SackCircus Costume for the PSP version of LBP, as well as the Sack Circus Extravaganza Pack for $2.99 that not only includes LittleBigPlanet PSP Island levels, but four costumes, and 12 new stickers.

Sounds fun, but no matter how cute sackboy is, we still don’t like the clown getup.

It’s GDC week! And you know what that means? It means developers get lippy with their secrets. First up: Sony’s releasing something called “LBP2″ this year.

Whether the LittleBigPlanet product’s disc-based or a download is unknown as yet, but our source was cast iron on a 2010 ship.

Sony’s holding a press conference in GDC’s locality this week, but we have no idea if anything from Media Molecule’s to be included.

A second game in the series would signal a major change in tack. The UK developer categorically said last November that releasing a full sequel is something it’d “never want to do,” with level designer Danny Leaver adding it’d “be the most counter-productive thing you could do, I think.”

Producer Martin Lynagh said in the same interview, “I think what you’ve seen so far from LittleBigPlanet, that’s the way it’s going to continue. We have a lot of stuff coming out, especially next year.”

To date, the game has been serviced by DLC through PSN.

We asked Media Molecule co-founders Kareem Ettouney and Mark Healy at Develop last summer if they were working on a disc-based sequel. Answer came their none.

It was announced last week that Sony has fully bought the studio.

LittleBigPlanet is a platform game featuring a little sack character and a suite of user-used development tools. It was released in 2008.

It was confirmed in November last year that more than 1.3 million gamer-generated levels had been created for LBP, and last week that more than 2 million have been made to date.

Sony has announced a few goodies for White Knight Chronicles International Edition, in the form of LBP costumes, Dynamic Themes, Home, Trophies and more.

First off, coming to PSN February 25, LittleBigPlanet fans will be able to pick up their very own White Knight Chronicles Costume & Sticker Pack with Leonard, the White Knight, the Black Knight and the Dragon Knight.

Secondly, the game will be supporting Trophy and Home integration, which means that when you unlock a certain Trophy it will grant you some stuff in Home.

Last but not lear, Dynamic Themes will be released on February 4.

Looks like the LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition could be hitting Europe on April 14, if a rating listed over on the official PEGI site is any indication.

The date was provided by LBPcentral, which was given the date by a creator whose level was featured in the US version.

We’ll send a mail of to SCEE and see what else we can find out, but it should at least have the same levels as the US version, if not a few possibly switched out here and there.

The game hit the US back in September, along with some very nice launch videos.

Previously, Sony said it had “no plans” to release the title in Europe.
