Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now free to play in your browser, Square has announced. The title is the latest in a string of games released on the firm’s Core Online platform, joining the likes of Hitman: Blood Money and Mini Ninjas. The system uses Google’s Native Client on Chrome, is available for both Mac and PC users, and supports ads. However, you can pay $9.99 to remove the adverts from the game if you like.

Behind the scenes with The Final Hours of Tomb Raider
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have begun the countdown to the launch of Tomb Raider by kicking-off a new series of behind the scenes videos detailing the development process, titled The Final Hours of Tomb Raider.
Head through the break for the first episode, which looks at Camilla Luddington’s mo-cap and voice work for Lara Croft; episode two will feature the writers of Lara’s origin story.
All of the videos that make up the series, The Final Hours of Tomb Raider, will be available for iPad and PC in March 2013. Tomb Raider launches on March 5, 2013.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light hits Chrome this fall
Square has announced it will release Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for Chrome this fall. The game was first releases in August 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade before landing on Blackberry, iOS, OnLive, PSN, and Steam. “We’re happy to be working closely with Google to bring Lara Croft to Google Chrome without download or installation of game software for the first time,” said Phil Rogers, president and chief executive of Square Enix Europe. “Console quality gaming in the browser is an area we believe in and are committed to by delivering innovative, high-quality entertainment experiences.” More Square titles will be released through the Google browser in the next year.
