According to Console Monster, Play.com and ShopTo are listing a Game of the Year version of Fable II, which features past DLC like Knothole Island and See the Future.

Is this Lionhead’s big announcement for Cologne? Of course not, you’d be silly to think so, although we wouldn’t rule it out for an appearance during the MS conference on Wednesday morning.

We’re gonna check in with MS to see if there is any weight on it.

The latest Xbox Live Deal of the Week means Fable II’s Knothole Island now costs 560 MSP instead of the usual 800.

The oh-so-awesome new price is available until Monday, July 6.

Lionhead has released a set of six new screenshots of Fable II’s Knothole Island, released yesterday on Xbox Live for 800 MS points.

We’ve had a little go on it, and suffice to say we’re very impressed so far.

In the last Fable II DLC story for today, Major Nelson has now confirmed that Fable II DLC, Knothole Island, is available from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

It was available earlier in the day, but only from Xbox.com.

Microsoft has told videogaming247 that the “Free” Knothole Island we linked to earlier is simply allow players who can’t be bothered buy it, the chance to play co-op with their mates.

“The free update will grant players a handful of gifts from the fine people of Knothole Island and will enable those who haven’t purchased Knothole Island downloadable content to continue the co-op action with their friends,” says the forwarded release.

“Some of the fun items include: Knight’s Boots, Assassins Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, a collectible silver book and more. The update will also enable players to check their standing in over 50 new Leaderboards on Lionhead.com.”

We’re told that you can get to the docks, but the ship’s Captain won’t give you access to the Island unless you pay up.

He does give you the swag mentioned above though.

In an interview with CVG, Fable II writer Mark Llabres Hill has said that providing you don’t blaze through Fable II DLC Knothole Island, there’s over 4 more hours of gameplay to be enjoyed.

“As with everything else in Fable, it very much depends how you approach it,” said Hill when asked about how much gameplay is in Knothole.

“If you just want to blaze through it, it will probably take a couple of hours. If you want to discover everything on offer, it will take over four.”

Although Fable II DLC Knothole Island isn’t on the Xbox Live Marketplace yet, it is, however, on Xbox.com for what appears to be no money what so ever.

However, underneath is another listing stating the content cost 800 MS Points. However, both items weighing in 532Mb.

It’s all rather confusing.

We’re just checking with MS now.

Lionhead has revealed a resurrection shrine will appear when you download its Knothole Island DLC which is due out today.

However, for the sake of not wanting to spoil a good story, Lionhead isn’t revealing exactly what this resurrection shrine will be used for.

And for that matter, neither will we.

Knothole Island will cost 800 Points.

However, it is worth noting that although pretty, up until now Fable II armour and clothing has been purely superficial, offering the wearer no added protection.

Also, Lionhead has released a new dev diary about the making of Knothole Island, which is of course due out on January 13.

Lionhead has informed its community that Fable II DLC, Knothole Island will be available to download from Xbox Live on the 13th of January.

The firm has also confirmed that the content will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

It seems like only yesterday when Lionhead told us there would be an announcement soon…oh wait, it was.

No word as to when the bug fixing patch will be available, however. We’re just checking now.

Knothole Island, Fable II’s upcoming DLC, has been pushed back to “late January”.

The news comes by way of the content’s Xbox.com page.

“Due to unexpected technical difficulties, the Fable II: Knothole Island expansion will not be available until late January 2009,” said the statement.

The DLC was originally planned for release on December 22.

Lionhead has confirmed to Eurogamer today that the Knothole Island downloadable content will be available to download from December 22, and not December 12 as previously published.

“It is 22nd December,” said the rep. “I believe one site stated 12th which was a mistake, and as with all these sort of things it got some traction. We always said mid December.”

Well, that’s that cleared up.

Shack‘s posted up some new shots of the Fable II DLC, Knothole Island.

Players adventuring to Knothole will “undergo the trials of the three shrines to bring the dying island back to life.” Fancy.
