The Killzone Trilogy bundle is now available in stores for €49.99/£39.99, and Sony is celebrating with a Double XP Weekend. The pack contains the original Killzone remastered in HD, Killzone 2, Killzone 3, and the DLC released for both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3. You can also pick up Killzone HD on the PS Store today for £11.99/€14.99.

The Killzone Trilogy has been confirmed by Sony, and the firm has given it an October date for Europe, the UK and US.

At Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2011 Vita spectacular, Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida demonstrated Vita’s improved remote play function – playing the PlayStation 3 version of Killzone 3 directly from the new handheld.

The BBFC’s rated Resistance 3 – an 18, so you know – with the rating on its website showing that it’ll come with three demos: 2D and 3D demos of Killzone 3, inFamous 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse. For R3 itself, it has nearly 90 minutes worth of cut-scenes throughout the game, with no cuts made to the content in the game.

Starting today at noon EST and running until noon EST on Monday, June 27, all XP earned in Killzone 3 multiplayer matches will be tripled. It’s to get folks started on the new From the Ashes map pack which was released on the PS Store this week. The triple XP counts on both sides of the pond. Sony’s put out four new videos of the From the Ashes Killzone 3 map pack, due to release today for $4.99. The footage looks at new versions of the vintage Radec Academy and Tharsis Depot maps, after the packs brand new levels, Lente Missile Base and Mobile Factory, were shown last week. Sony is holding a Double XP Weekend for Killzone 3’ players in celebration of the return of online to PSN. It is running right now, and will cease on May 23 at 10:00 am UK time. Of note: during the Double XP Weekend, the Score Screen will display the message “Fast Starter Bonus” instead of “Bonus Points” – this is a string error that will be fixed in future Bonus XP events. Guerrilla’s announced that Killzone 3 will get patched to V1.07 tomorrow. The update will include various bug fixes and more of the like, as well as the addition of non-ranked custom games. Patch notes are here. And that’s your lot.

Sony’s put out a live-action short detailing the time leading into Killzone 3, showing communications between the two friends, one on Vekta and one recently exiled to Helghan. Helghan dude needs a gas mask, clearly. And that thing on his forehead really does need some attention.

Someone’s managed to hack Kinect for what feels like the millionth time. It’s worthwhile this time, though: it’s been hacked to work with PS3. And in the video below the break, via Kotaku, it even shows Killzone 3 being played using the motion camera.
