The Just Cause 2 mod which adds multiplayer is in open beta this weekend. It starts at 1am PST Saturday and will run for 48 hours. In order to participate, you will need to own the game through Steam and register for a beta account through the mod’s site. The changelog from the last version released can be found here. Have fun! Square Enix didn’t show much imagination in titling this bundle “Absolutely Great” but at $10 for seven PC games plus DLC you can’t fault its logic.

Just Cause 2 has another beta weekend planned for the multiplayer mod, and it starts tomorrow morning at 4.00am EDT/8.00am GMT and lasts for 48 hours. New features include: Extended Passenger Sync, added basic server-side Lua gamemode scripting, and “drastically improved” weapon accuracy and sync. Those who have held on to their Just Cause 2 save file and plan on purchasing Sleeping Dogs will be able to download a Just Cause 2-themed clothing set for use United Front’s Hong Kong actioner. It doesn’t matter whether you played it on PC, PS3, or Xbox 360. As long as you have a save file, you’ll get the duds along with a boost to your hijack abilities which, according to Eurogamer, will “allow you to perform stunt-style takeovers of enemy vehicles from an even greater distance.” Awesome. A new video for Just Cause 2’s DLC has been released.

In it, Rico Rodriguez is utilizing previously released DLC, such as the Chevalier Ice Breaker, as well as the upcoming Black Market Boom Pack and the recently released Black Market Aerial Pack.

The Black Market Aerial Pack, just in case you forgot, includes:

• F-33 Dragon Fly Jet Fighter
• Multi-lock Missile Launcher
• Parachute Dual Thrusters

The Black Market Aerial Pack is available now and the Black Market Boom Pack will be available on May 26 – both packs are $1.99/160 MSP on PS3, Steam and Xbox 360, respectively.
