XCOM creator Julian Gollop has discussed the pitfalls of weak AI in games during a new interview. The developer has voiced concern that visuals are becoming the main focus of games, rather than intelligent enemies or NPCs, creating what he called an “elaborate paper-thin illusion”, of a believable world.

Chaos Reborn creator Julian Gollop has revealed new multiplayer details for the follow up to his 1985 ZX Spectrum classic. Battles will support up to four players across both synchronous and asynchronous play. The developer has also revealed a work-in-progress shot of the game in action. Check it all out after the cut.

Despite appearances to the contrary, the 3DS’ launch lineup isn’t all quick ports whose biggest upgrades are the addition of “3D” to their titles. Case in point: Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. It’s a brand new turn-based tactical game from none other than the creator of X-Com himself, Julian Gollop.
Yes, yes, we know Ocarina of Time is the greatest game of all time , but Shadow Wars looks to be a pretty darn promising upstart. Read all about it after the break.
