Treyarch: “In an ideal world we would love to ship a completely bug-proof game”

Treyarch community manager Josh Olin has said that bud in Call of Duty: Black Ops are not just prevalent on PS3, but inherent in all three releases. However, despite some issues with the game, Olin insists the developer is making an effort “to ensure that every fan is happy.”

Treyarch: Black Ops is “three games in one”

Interview – Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Josh Olin and Mark Lamia speak in London

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be one of the biggest core games of 2010, and Treyarch’s doing everything it can to rise to the challenge, stepping into a nuclear-sized impact crater left by the recent Infinity Ward explosion. Call of Duty’s future could depend on this game: given the reaction to code showings this month, it appears the IP is in safe hands.

Demoing two levels from the Cold War shooter in London this week – one name WMD and a Vietnam level called Slaughterhouse – the studio left attending journalists breathless. Black Ops appears to be a whole new level for the team behind World at War.

We were lucky enough to get face-time with Treyarch community manager Josh Olin and studio head Mark Lamia at the event. We also spoke to Mark in-depth at a recent LA event for the game: get that here.

CoD: Black Ops gets official reveal trailer May 18

Treyarch’s community manager, Josh Olin, has announced that the official reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops will go live May 18 during the NBA Eastern Conference Finals on ESPN.

Activision says that the trailer will be made available after the debut, and to get you ready for it, it’s released a 15-second “tune-in” trailer that you can find below the break courtesy of IGN.

It was revealed yesterday that the game would get dedicated servers, which should make some folks rather happy.

It’s also rumored that Raven Software’s making the map packs for it.

Black Ops will be available on PC, PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 November 9.
