R18+ Australian games classification now in effect
Although there aren’t yet any games to take advantage of it, Australia’s brand new R18+ ratings category for games came into effect with the New Year.

Rau: South Australia to replace MA15+ ratings with R18+
Attorney-General John Rau has communicated that South Australia will drop the current MA15+ ratings category for video games in favour of R18+, regardless of national overhauls to the classifications system.

MA15+ games to be reclassified as R18+ in South Australia
South Australian attorney general John Rau intends to introduce a revised games ratings system for his home state, and asked for nation-wide acceptance.
Hooray? Not quite. It won’t help you get your hands on the likes of Mortal Kombat and an uncensored Left 4 Dead 2 – but it will stop under-eighteens buying Grand Theft Auto IV or Fallout 3.

Dead Rising 2 to launch in Australia uncut
Australia’s ratings board, the OFLC, has classified Dead Rising 2 for a release in the country with an MA15 rating. Best news? It’s releasing in the country uncut and unedited: Aussies get a break at last.
