Black Ops 2 moves 219,527 units on PS3, 360 at Japanese retail
Animal Crossing: New Leaf remained in the top spot at Japanese retail for the third week in a row, according to Media Create figures, but Treyarch’s Black Ops 2 did fairly well in its debut moving 197,350 units on PS3 and 22,177 units on Xbox 360. Combined, the shooter moved 219,527 units for the week, essentially making it the top earner on the chart.

Animal Crossing 3DS, Dynasty Warriors 7, Halo 4 debut strong at Japanese retail
Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 3DS debuted in first place on the Media Create charts, with 603,064 units sold. Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires for PS3 , also new this week, placed second, while Halo 4 showed for third with 39,312 units sold. The 343 shooter boosted Xbox 360 sales by 1,569 units over last week. Tales of Xillia 2 and Okami HD tops at Japanese retail
Tales of Xillia 2 debuted strong on Media Create’s software chart in Japan this week with 364,439 units moved on PS3. Okami HD, another PS3 title, debuted in second place with 68,644 units moved, putting quite a large sales gap between the two titles. SEGA’s Yakuza 1&2 HD Edition and Konami’s World Soccer Winning Eleven 2013 rounded out the top four and debuts in third and fourth place, respectively. For the later, when you combine all three chart formats, 57,901 units were sold. On the hardware side, unsurprisingly, 3DS LL and its thinner cousin were the top systems earners for the week. Little Battlers, 3DS dominate Japanese charts
Little Battlers eXperience W was the sales topper in Japan on PSP according to the latest Media Create charts with over 77,000 units sold. Resident Evil 6 maintained its second place position with 42,234 units sold, and last week’s number one – Bravely Default: Flying Fairy – fell into third with 41,430 units moved. 3DS LL sold 37,785 units and 3DS moved 22,447 units. SD Gundam G Generation Overworld, 3DS top Japanese retail charts
Namco Bandai’s SD Gundam G Generation Overworld for PSP was the clear winner at Japanese retail this week, with 209,815 units sold. Dead or Alive 5 for PS3, also new this week, came in second place with 66,586 units sold. The Xbox 360 version of the game came in 10th, moving 14,811 copies, bringing total sales of the game to 81,397 units. 3DS LL was on top again in hardware, moving 55,353 units, up from 35,206 the week prior.

Final Fantasy 3 and 3DS top Japanese charts
Final Fantasy 3 for PSP and 3DS were the big winners on the Media Create charts in Japan, selling 44,872 and 61,382 units, respectively. We combined units sales of 3DS LL and 3DS there. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning debuted in third place on PS3, and LittleBigPlanet Vita debuted at 17. Get the full hardware and software charts below.

3DS and New Super Mario Bros. 2 reclaim top spots at Japanese retail
3DS is back on top this week after being usurped by Vita last week thanks to the release of Hatsune Miku Project Diva f. This week, last week’s number one software title has fallen to fifth place, and has been replaced by New Super Mario Bros. 2. Nacmo’s Lost Heroes for 3DS debuted in second place, Max Payne 3 in third for PS3, and Pokemon Black 2 / White 2 rounded out the top five with a fourth place finish.

Vita tops in Japan thanks to Hatsune Miku Project Diva f
Vita has bested 3DS on the Media Create charts this week with 50,070 units sold, thanks to the debut of SEGA’s rhythm game Hatsune Miku Project Diva f. The game stormed the software chart with 159,592 units sold. Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers also debuted for 3DS this week, and the Atlus title moved 69,365 units.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3DS LL maintain top spots on Japanese retail charts
New Super Mario Bros. 2 is still the reigning champion of Japanese games retail this week, as is 3DS LL. According to Media Create figures, the latest Mario title moved 68,547 units, bringing the grand total in the region to 981,144 lifetime. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings also debuted in Japan this week on Xbox 360, landing in the 19th spot with 4,924 units sold.

Nintendo rules 70% of the games market in Japan
Nintendo products make up close to 70% of the games market in Japan, according to a Media Create report attached to the latest retail charts. This is the largest share of the Japanese hardware and software market Nintendo has acquired in the last five years. On the hardware side of things, Nintendo offerings make up 75% of all hardware sales, compared to Sony’s 23%. The latest charts show the top 10 games in the country were on Nintendo consoles with 69.74% of software sold, compared with Sony consoles garnering 29.18% of sales. Via Wired.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 reigns supreme on Media Create charts
New Super Mario Bros. 2 is still tops on the Media Create charts this week, and has been since it was released has released in Japan on July 28. 3DS XL (LL in Japan) moved 66,412 units, sales of which are up 1,757 units week-over-week. Sales overall were a bit slow for the week, as there were no new game releases.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3DS XL take Japanese charts by storm
Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 debuted strong with 407,000 units sold and Persona 4 Arena for PS3 came in second with 128,485 units moved. 3DS XL (LL in Japan) debuted with 187,480 units sold, claiming the top spot on the hardware charts.

Kirby’s Dream Collection tops Japanese charts
Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and the debut of Kirby’s Dream Collection Special Edition knocked Pokemon Black & White 2 from its venerable perch – but just barely. The Wii title sold 100,286 units for the week, just 8,108 units more than Pokemon. Hardware fared a bit better this week, with PS3, PSP, Wii, and DSi systems all seeing a surge in unit sales.

Time Travelers debuts strong on Japanese charts, hardware comes in flat
Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and unsurprisingly, Pokemon Black & White 2 was once again tops with 122,242 units moved. The 3DS and Vita versions of Level-5′s Time Travelers also debuted this week with 27,754 units combined. The strongest debut of the week though, was Taiko Drum Master: Chibi Dragon and the Mysterious Orb with 65,642.

Pokemon Black & White 2 dominates Japanese charts, Vita slips heavily
Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and as previously reported, Pokemon Black & White 2 dominated software with 1,561,738 units sold. Vita feel back into its usual third place spot in drastic fashion moving a paltry 13,589 units when compared to last week’s 34,459 units.

Strong sell-through for Persona 4 The Golden
PS Vita JRPG, Persona 4 The Golden has topped the Japanese chart with 137,076 units sold and a sell-through rate of 84.11 percent, Andriasang has reported.
