Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 debuted at number on in Japan with 88,708 units sold on 3DS, just barely besting Pokemon X & Y, which rallied from number four last week, to take the second slot with 86,391 units moved.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 bests Super Mario 3D World by 177,494 units on Media Create charts
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 debuted in the top slot on the Media Create charts, moving 277,082 units in three days on PS3. The Square Enix title bested the debut of Super Mario 3D World by 177,494 units. Full report below.

Battlefield 4 has topped the Media Create charts in Japan, with 121,699 units moved on PS3 for its debut. Pokemon X and Y, which has been the top seller since it released on October 12, fell into second place. The DICE shooter only bested the Nintendo title by 6,069 units, making it rather close.

Pokemon X and Y was still in the number one slot on the Media Create charts in Japan for the week ending November 3, and while the title helped 3DS LL maintain its spot at number one, Wii U soared to second place with 38,802 units sold thanks to the release of Wii Party U.

Pokemon X & Y moved another 473,151 units in Japan, and was once again the reigning champion of the Media Create charts in Japan. Lifetime sales for the titles in the region, combined, have now hit 2,339,721 units. Monster Hunter 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5 swapped places, and FIFA 14 and Beyond: Two Souls both debuted, and landed at six and seven on the chart, respectively, for PS3. On the hardware side, PSP and Wii were the only offerings to see an increase over the prior week, but 3DS LL was still the top seller as usual with 94,988 units moved compared to Pokemon debut week when it moved 141,245 units.

Pokemon X & Y moved over 1.8 million units in Japan in one day, according to Media Create, topping the charts for the week of October 7-13. Yesterday, Nintendo announced the games had moved over 4 million units combined worldwide within two days. Another new entry on the charts, Grand Theft Auto 5, didn’t do too shabby considering it had to go up against Pokemon: the PS3 version debuted at number two with 360,115 units moved and the Xbox 360 version moved 26,612 units for a combined total of 386,727 units.

Monster Hunter 4 was once again the top selling software title in Japan for the week ending October 6. It was a rather uneventful period, actually, with the only debut was Namco Bandai’s SPEC: Ten for 3DS and the only hardware to show growth over the prior week was Wii with 914 units compared 866 units previously. A Wii title didn’t crack the top 20 in software so we’re unsure what causes the slight spike.

Monster Hunter 4 was once again the clear winner on the Media Create charts, with 213,078 units moved, bringing its current lifetime total to 2,402,077. Armored Core: Verdict Day debuted during the period and moved a total of 64,272 units on both PS3 and Xbox 360 combined, while The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD moved 30,264 units on Wii U during it’s three days on the market.

Monster Hunter 4 was once again the clear winner on the Media Create charts in Japan, moving 473,739 units for the week. The game debuted on September 14 in the region, and moved 1,715,060 in just a little over a day. Lifetime sales so far have hit 2,188,799 for the 3DS title. The only hardware systems to show growth were 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360. All increases were slight, expect for the latter which moved 610 units compared to last week’s 244 units. The week also marks a milestone for 3DS: its lifetime sales reached 12,752,731 surpassing Wii sales of 12,698,878 in the region.

Monster Hunter 4 was unsurprisingly the clear winner on the Media Create charts with 1,715,060 units moved in its first couple days. This figure is slightly lower than the numbers quoted by Famitsu, which stated the game moved 1.875 million copies in its first two days.

Uta no Prince-sama: Music 2 debuted in the top slot on the Media Create charts for the week of September 2-8 with 68,415 units sold on PSP. Splinter Cell: Blacklist debited in second with 22,425 units sold on PS3 and when combined with Xbox 360 sales of 5,109 units, the title sold 27,534. Other debuts for the week included Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, Puppeteer, Killzone: Mercenary and Shirahana no Ori: Hiiro no Kakera 4. Hardware was down over the prior week except for 3DS LL which was up by 10,928 units, 3DS up by 1,241 units and Xbox 360 which sold 201 units compared to the prior week’s 177 units.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle debuted in first place on the Media Create charts for the week of Augist 26 – September 1. The PS3 title moved 425,718 units, besting second place Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn and its 184,018 units sold on PS3. Ragnarok Odyssey Ace moved 31,622 on Vita, and took third place.

Pikmin 3 took the top spot on the Media Create charts its debit week in Japan, besting other high-profile debuts such as Level-5′s Yokai Watch, New Super Luigi U, Dead Island: Riptide, and Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection.

Earth Defense Force 2025 debuted at first place on the Media Create charts with 154,689 units sold on PS3, and combined with the 360 version – which came in at number 6 – the game shifted 178,060 units. On the hardware end, Wii U was the only system to show growth over the prior week with 8,251 units moved compared to 7,060 units last week. Vita come in at number two again this week, nestled between 3DS LL and 3DS, respectively. Full results are below.

The Last of Us debuted at number one in Japan on the Media Create charts. The PS3 title shifted 117,465 units, knocking last week’s number one Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D to the second spot. It moved another 42,247 for the period, while Tomodachi Collection: New Life continues to thrive at the three spot. It shifted another 34,286 units, bringing its lief-to-date numbers to 1,167,532. The only hardware to show a jump over the prior week was Vita, which moved 13,422 units compared to last week’s 10,664 units. All other hardware offerings were down over the prior week.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D topped the Media Create charts in Japan with 104,569 units moved, and ultimately helped provide 3DS with a much needed surge after disappointed hardware sales over the last couple of weeks. Sales of 3DS LL hit 29,533 units over the prior week’s 27,172 units, while 3DS sales saw the biggest jump out of the two offerings. The system moved 17,602 compared to 12,700 the prior week.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life continued its reign on the Media Create charts in Japan for the June 3-9 period, bringing it’s life-to-date sales to the 1,090,875 mark since its April 18 release. The only new title to grace the top 20 was Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, and it debuted at 11. Hardware sale continued to decline. Charts are below.
