Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – Episode 2: The Wise Monkey will release on PC and Mac next week. To get you caught up on the events leading up to the second episode, a trailer has been released. You ca watch it below. Also, starting at 4:00pm EST the Phoenix Online team will host a live broadcast to celebrate The Wise Monkey’s launch. Jane Jensen, creator of Gabriel Knight and story consultant on Cognition, will join in at 5:00pm. Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – Episode 2: The Wise Monkey releases January 30. Each episode is available for $9.99 or alternatively, customers can drop $29.99 for the Season Pass which includes all four episodes when launched. Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen may be unable to make future games in the acclaimed adventure series due to licensing issues, but that hasn’t stopped her from making a spiritual successor instead. EA has announced it’s to waive distribution fees for 90 days on Origin for any developer with a “successfully crowd-funded, ready-to-publish downloadable PC game.”

Jan Jensen has said there’s a “good chance” gamers will be the recipients of a Gabriel Knight remake. Speaking with GamesRadar, Jensen said her studio Pinkerton Road needs to “get a good portion of Moebius” under its belt first. After which, there’s a “very good chance” we could see in a Gabriel remake “in the future.” The studio’s first project still has 23 days left on its Kickstarter campaign, which you can support here.
