Empire: 007 Skyfall to get game tie-in
The most recent issue of film magazine Empire has said the release of Skyfall, the next James Bond film, will get a game. This is not the first time the tie-in’s been mentioned. The small bit of info was given in regards to the 007 IP celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Activision currently holds the Bond games rights, and has released three titles so far: Quantum of Solace from Treyarch, Goldeneye 007 from Eurocom and Bizarre’s Blood Stone, the Liverpool studio’s final game.
Thanks, TSA.

EastEnders doctor says he plays Bond in the new game

EastEnders’ Adam Croasdell has revealed to BBC Asia that he is playing James Bond in Bizarre Creations’ new game in the franchise.
“Oddly enough I have just played James Bond in the new James Bond video game – how weird is that? I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m always into varying up what comes my way, trying new things,” he said.
“I think video games and the making of that type of technology, being in a funny one-piece suit and being shot with 60 cameras, I think that’s sort of the future. Andy Serkis did it in The Hobbit, and there’s a new film Avatar which is James Cameron – it’s all that sort of motion capture.
“I think it’s the future, so I was fascinated to see how that would happen.”
The “racing and driving focused” game is due in 2010, while the new movie, Bond 23 starring Daniel Craig is in pre-production and not expected to be released until 2011.
Guess Activision can’t wait long enough for the real Bond.

Eurocom CV reveals next Bond game is to do with Goldeneye
If a CV from Eurocom staff member Craig Peck seems to indicate what we think it does, the next Bond game from Activision looks like it has something to do with Goldeneye.
The CV shows:
Eurocom Entertainment Software, Derby, United Kingdom
July 09 – Sept 09 Animator – GoldenEye 2010 (Wii)
Animator on Activision’s James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii
It’s worth noting that Bizarre are creating the next Bond game, but Eurocom could do porting work for the game, as they did with Quantum of Solace for the Wii last year, while Treyarch handled the PS3 and 360 versions.
Thanks, superannuation.

Riccitiello talks Godfather II
Talking at a session with investors at the William Blair & Company’s 28th Annual Growth Stock Conference, EA CEO John Riccitiello said that EA’s Redwood Shores studio is at work on a sequel to The Godfather game.
“It’s a game that I think we’ll be talking a lot about this fall,” said Riccitiello.
“You can play this game both at the street level, much like a GTA-style game, but you can also play it top-down, almost like you’re in an RTS, controlling the strategy of the boroughs so you can see what’s going on.”
Riccitiello also added that EA’s Hunter Smith, who worked on two EA James Bond games will be executive producer on The Godfather II.
Thanks, Next-Gen.
