This weekend’s VGAs will see a new clip from the Prince of Persia movie aired, according to the almighty Geoff Keighley’s super-Twitter.

Banny rabbit beefcake Jake Gyllenhaal himself will be on hand to intro the new footage.

The VGAs air on Saturday at 8pm EST.

Looks like the Prince of Persia flick won’t be your typical videogame adaption, according to the Prince himself, Jake Gyllenhaal.

Which is why the actor wanted to be in it to begin with.

“It wasn’t like your normal video game adaptation,” he told Moviefone. “It was this massive epic that they had in the works; this real classic story that was emotional and real and filled with just ridiculous turns and twists.

“And that’s what makes it intriguing to me.”

Good for you Jake.

Of course, no one says “no” to Jerry Bruckheimer. No one. Right, Johnny Depp?

According to this ComingSoon.net report, the Prince of Persia movie has been pushed back into 2010.

The Mike Newell-directed video game adaptation stars Jake Gyllenhaal. No reason has been given for the move.

Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina are to join Jake Gyllenhaal in next year’s Prince of Persia film, Variety’s reporting.

Kingsley’s going to play the villain, apparently, hopefully in the same style as he did in Sexy Beast.

Jerry Bruckheimer’s producing this, so en if it is awful, at least you can be guaranteed things will blow up.

According to this GameDaily report, Ubisoft is considering making a game of the upcoming Prince of Persia movie, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Artertonas and will release next summer.

No other details have been given on the title as yet, which was talked about in brief by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at Ubidays last week, although the exec did say the title will have nothing to do with the upcoming Prince of Persia reboot shown for the first time at the event.

According to this Hollywood Reporter story, Jake Gyllenhaal has now been confirmed for the leading role in the upcoming Prince of Persia film.

He’ll play alongside Gemma Arterton in the Jerry Bruckheimer adaptation.

The movie’s plot is based on The Sands of Time. Expect to see it next year.

According to Monsters and Critics, Jake Gyllenhaal is being rumoured as a possible for the Prince of Persia movie lead. Orlando Bloom was the latest actor to be supposedly taking on the role, but that all turned out to be hokum. The movie releases next year.
