Looks like the Prince of Persia flick won’t be your typical videogame adaption, according to the Prince himself, Jake Gyllenhaal.
Which is why the actor wanted to be in it to begin with.
“It wasn’t like your normal video game adaptation,” he told Moviefone. “It was this massive epic that they had in the works; this real classic story that was emotional and real and filled with just ridiculous turns and twists.
“And that’s what makes it intriguing to me.”
Good for you Jake.

Entertainment Tonight spoke with Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of Prince of Persia in Morocco and its souds as if he would be keen to do a sequel if asked.
Of course, no one says “no” to Jerry Bruckheimer. No one. Right, Johnny Depp?
The full interview, of sorts, is posted after the break and it’s actually pretty decent.
Nice scenery anyway.
Movie’s out May 28, 2010 in the US and UK.

Empire has them. They feature Jake Gyllenhaal and pro-pouter Gemma Arterton looking serious and wet with their mouths slightly open.
Still. Should give a little variation to your daily “release”. The movie’s out next May.

We have been putting this off all afternoon, but we have finally given into internet pressure along with the malaise of a slow news Saturday.
Thus, we now present you with the the fist picture from the actual Prince of Persia movie not taken by a paparazzi stalking Jake Gyllenhaal from the sideline.
Hope you are pleased. Sorry if it is a bit fuzzy.
Still, when all is said and done, we still prefer this guy to a shirtless Jake.
Blame Entertainment Weekly.

Entertainment Tonight’s broadcast a first look at filming on the Prince of Persia movie set, including a chat with leading man Jake Gyllenhaal.
It’s a bit shit, to be honest, but Jake and the woman presenting clearly want to have sex with each other, so that lifts it a bit.
Take a look. Thanks, Kotaku.

On CVG. Looks as though no one’s messing about with this. Jake Gyllenhaal’s leading as the man in question, and the film’s out in 2010. Take a look.

Here. Fair play, Jake with his top off and a daft haircut pretty much does look like the Prince. As you’d expect, really.
Movie’s not out until 2010, unfortunately.

Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina are to join Jake Gyllenhaal in next year’s Prince of Persia film, Variety’s reporting.
Kingsley’s going to play the villain, apparently, hopefully in the same style as he did in Sexy Beast.
Jerry Bruckheimer’s producing this, so en if it is awful, at least you can be guaranteed things will blow up.

No other details have been given on the title as yet, which was talked about in brief by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at Ubidays last week, although the exec did say the title will have nothing to do with the upcoming Prince of Persia reboot shown for the first time at the event.
