Wii U queue dispersed ahead of Hurricane Sandy

wiiu3

Isaiah-Triforce Johnson has had to abandon his position as the head of the queue for the first Wii U in the US as New York battens down ahead of Hurricane Sandy’s arrival. This is disappointing for Triforce, although he’s quite sensible about it, but almost certainly the least awful consequence that is likely to result from the extreme weather, especially as Nintendo will let him take top spot again. Best wishes to everyone in affected areas. The Wii U launches in November assuming the world hasn’t exploded by then.

Wii U queue starts in Manhattan

Isaiah-Triforce Johnson, who was the first person in the US to buy a Wii and 3DS, has started queueing up to repeat this feat with the Wii U, nearly a month ahead of its November 18 launch. Johnson has set up camp outside Nintendo World in Manhattan and is tweeting from the scene. The quasi-celebrity gamer runs a digital culture company and has even worked with Nintendo on some promotions, so he’s unlikely to be moved on before he earns a third Reggie Fils-Aime happy snap for his collection. The Wii U arrives in Europe later in November and finally drops in Japan in December.
