Rebellion files trademark infringement suit against Stardock

20120817_sins_of_a_solar_empire_rebellion

Oxford developer Rebellion, best known for Sniper Elite and Alien vs Predator, has filed suit against Stardock and Ironclad, claiming trademark infringement. Gamasutra reports the crux of the matter is the new Sins of a Solar Empire expansion, which also rejoices in the name of Rebellion. Don’t go firing off angry letters just yet; as we learned in the Bethesda vs Mojang case, trademark holders are forced to engage in these kinds of battles or risk losing trademarks, and it may all be settled amicably. SoaSE: Rebellion released in June and has garnered positive reviews.

Second Sins of a Solar Empire micro-content will be a bit late

sinsofasolarempirea

The second micro-expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire is going to be late, says Ironclad.

Entrenchment, the first out of three planned expansions, has been out for a bit, but Ironcald’s Blair Fraser says that the next part will be “done when it’s done”.

Sounded like Blizzard talking there for a minute.

Untitled at this point, the second update expands on diplomacy features.
