A Rise of the Triad production diary is available and it shows some new gameplay footage, and details some of the environment design. If you’re keen on development as a career or just want to understand what goes into the games you play, you could do worse than check out Rise of the Triad’s excellent ongoing developer blogs. The latest entry discusses environmental design and modelling, and discusses what tools the artists use for small details, and how that eventually becomes a full, explorable 3D environment. In preparation for the Rise of the Triad remake coming from Interceptor Entertainment, gog.com is offering the original 1994 game at 60 percent off, that’s $2.39. Bonus content includes the soundtrack and seven additional levels.
A video and screens of the new version were released not too long ago, the game is expected later this year on PC.

Apogee Software confirmed during a QuakeCon panel today a remake of Rise of the Triad is in the works from Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded developer Interceptor Entertainment.
