Ratchet & Clank: Gladiator getting the HD PSN treatment
Ratchet & Clank: Gladiator – alias Deadlocked – will get the HD treatment and release via the PlayStation Network. Insomniac Games announced the latest of its re-releases at PAX Prime; the upscaled conversion of the 2005 title has been expected for some time now, as it was the only game in the series not included in the recent collection.

Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force video shows a bit of story, gameplay
Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force is coming to a retailer near you this fall, and to get you excited, Sony has released the gamescom trailer for Insomniac’s latest. The game is known as Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault in the US, and it contains Cross-Play between the PS3 and Vita versions, and is one of Sony’s Cross-Buy titles.

Outernauts – Insomniac’s first Facebook game launches
EA has announced the launch of Outernauts, Insomniac’s first game created for Facebook. The adventure role-playing social game allows players to capture and train “exotic alien beasts for battle” as they transform their “cosmic homeworld into a thriving galactic hub,” as members of United Earth’s elite Outernaut force. Players must also uncover the riddle behind mysterious “ancients” while “battling pirates and evil corporations seeking to control the galaxy.” Players will explore planets, harvest loot, and fight asynchronously alongside or against friends. Overstrike skipped E3 2012 to be shown this summer instead, says EA
Insomniac has plans to show Overstrike off later this year, according to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau, who said the game missed E3 this year in order to get a bit more polish before showing it to the press. Speaking with CVG, Gibeau said: “It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more,” he said. gamescom then? Sound like it might be the venue, although EA has yet to announce it’s plans for the European games conference. Overstrike was first announced during E3 2011 as a first-person, four-player co-op shooter in development through EA Partners. A release window has yet to be announced.

Insomniac “builds franchises,” don’t expect Outernauts to go “away anytime soon”
Insomniac has said its Facebook title, Outernauts, won’t be just a one-off entry but the start of a new franchise. Speaking with Gamasutra, lead designer Rowan Belden-Clifford said the studio is in the business of building franchises, “so don’t expect Outernauts to be going away anytime soon.” He also said with the firm is interested in seeing “where Facebook, mobile and tablet games go in the future,” the team is entirely focused on its first foray into the social games market, and for now a mobile version isn’t in the cards. For those uninterested in social titles, there’s always Overstrike, the firm’s first-person, four-player co-op shooter in development through EA Partners in works.
