Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force has gone into beta, and it’s now open for PS Plus members, Sony has announced. The beta will be made available “for a limited time to some lucky PS Plus members,” from 4.00pm GMT today. The beta will include a tutorial mode, ranked competitive multiplayer, and leaderboards. More information is available on the PS Blog. Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force will release later this year. The game is known as Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault in the US, and it contains Cross-Play between the PS3 and Vita versions, and is one of Sony’s Cross-Buy titles.

In celebration of the Ratchet & Clank Collection’s US release on August 28, Insomniac has released some very early concept art for what would later become one of the PS2′s most recognisable properties. Both of our heroes used to be lizards, apparently. “Resistance 3 fans should be looking forward to next week. News on Monday,” Insomniac Games teased via its Twitter. DLC? A developer multiplayer session? DLC? A significant patch? DLC? DLC? I think it’s DLC. The PlayStation 3 exclusive released in early September and holds an 83 Metacritic average.

A report on Kotaku states that MyResistance.net, the official site for Insomniac’s Resistance series, has been taken offline due to visitors being handed a fresh pile of malware scripts when visiting. According to the report, a forum user alerted the developer, and the entire site was taken offline for maintenance. Neither Insomniac nor Sony have confirmed the report as of press time. Stay tuned for updates.

Insomniac has posted an update regarding patch 1.05, and along with a pending release date of next week, it will also come with two new multiplayer maps at no cost to you. The maps are Creek (16 players) and The Granary (four players). The patch will contain: network lag fixes; improved team balancing; purchasable abilities and equipment at level 60; fewer leaper spawns for Leaper Corpse, and better aiming with Move.

Rachet and Clank and Resistance developer Insomniac Games has filed trademarks for two new titles, “Galaxy Beasts” and “Space Beasts”, suspected to be two different names for the same project.

Insomniac has posted a new video for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One which takes place on the Aldaros Plains, located on Planet Magnus. This area, full of floating islands of rock in a shifting landscape, has a boss called the Octomoth – not to be confused with Octomom – and you get to see our heroes battling it below. All4 One’s out on October 18 in the US and October 21 in the UK for PS3.
