HMV: GTA V will “inject huge excitement” into market

HMV games boss Tim Ellis has said yesterday’s announcement of Grand Theft Auto V will bring a new boost to the market. Ellis told MCV a new GTA launch is “a fantastic development that would inject huge excitement into the games market for fans, retailers and media alike,” adding Rockstar would “face the challenge of delivering another brilliant game that’s as good if not better than anything we’ve seen before.”

GTA V’s first trailer airs next Tuesday at 6pm BST.

UK – Batman: Arkham City for 99p at HMV with trade in

According to several posts on Hot UK Deals, HMV is offering Batman: Arkham City for 99p with trade-ins of Forza Motorsport 4 or RAGE.

The deal is said to include a T-shirt and lenticular cover, set to run for a week, and to be available at all stores, but it’s probably worth calling ahead of Friday’s launch.

Arkham City is out now in Australia and the US, although the PC version has been delayed into November in all territories.

Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed: The Run, FIFA 12 part of EA-HMV Gamerbase UK tour

EA’s dropped details of a tour around the UK at HMV Gamerbase, enabling Joe Public to go hands-on with Mass Effect 3, Need for Speed: The Run and FIFA 12. The tour kicks off tonight in Glasgow and continues in Edinburgh tomorrow, Manchester next Monday and Tuesday and concludes in London next Thursday and Friday. More details here.

FIFA 12 releases at the end of this month, while Need for Speed: The Run launches in mid-November. Mass Effect 3 releases in early March 2012.
