Square Enix has announced that Hitman: Sniper Challenge, the pre-order incentive for Hitman: Absolution, and Gyromancer – the puzzle-RPG – are now available on its free-to-play platform, CoreOnline. The service now features six games available instantly in your browser, with more games to come. Users can play on the service free for 20 minutes per day, with advertisements included or purchase a subscription for $2.99 per month to get unlimited access to all games without advertising. Square Enix is holding a sale through its online store called April Savings Brings May Gaming where you can get 75% off select digital and boxed titles. A Hitman: Absolution companion app has been released for iOS and Android, and there’s a video available below showing off its features. Hitman ICA helps players track their progress, and unlocks various rewards in-game.

The Xbox Live Spring Sale has kicked off today, and right now you can pick up a whole bunch of stuff for less than you would have paid for it yesterday. Tomb Raider has sold 3.4 million units in the last four weeks, which is still a failure in the eyes of Square-Enix’s financial report. The company published a grim revision of its expected financials this morning, citing the poor performance of several titles as a key contributor.

Square-Enix had a strong run of IP last year, but its latest financial report makes for uneasy reading. The Japanese firm has published a loss of ¥5.7 billion for the nine-month period ended December 31st 2012, and cites the increasingly difficult console market as a key factor.

GDC 2013 organizers have announced new lectures for the conference which include talks on Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Hitman: Absolution, Lichdom, and games development through the BBC.

GDC organizers have announced more programming and design sessions for GDC 2013. The first focuses on programming AI and NPCs in Hitman: Absolution, and will be hosted by IO Interactive’s Mika Vehkala and Maurizio De Pascale. A design track from BioWare’s Dave Feltham will discuss bringing narrative to Mass Effect 3, and finally, GREE’s Aaron Bannin will host a postmortem on Kingdom Age where he will discuss the use of data for “numbers, analytics,” and more. GDC 2013 runs March 25-29 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
