Heavy Rain cost €16.7 million, Sony made “more than €100 million” on it
Quantic Dream’s Guillaume de Fondaumiere has said Heavy Rain cost €16.7 million to develop, and once distribution and marketing costs were added, the total came to €40 million. Still, the game was profitable: “Sony earned more than €100 million with this game,” he told the Digital Dragons audience in Poland today.

Quantic Dream hiring programmer with “a strong understanding of multiplayer”
Quantic Dream has posted a job listing for a lead online programmer with a “very deep and high knowledge of online gaming; network developments.” The firm would like for this person to have shipped a triple-A title with “significant experience in multiplayer gaming.” While Quantic’s next project, Beyond: Two Souls is a single-player title as with Heavy Rain, the firm’s David Cage has as in the past multiplayer is something he would consider in the future. Heavy Rain Move Edition still missing extra content
A Destructoid report puts the spotlight back on an ongoing issue: Some buyers have found that the Platinum Move Edition of Heavy Rain is missing the exclusive content advertised on the box. Affected copies of the game, which are still appearing in the wild, do not display the extra content on the PlayStation 3′s XMB. To get the disc replaced with a full version, purchasers have to ship the game to Sony, footing the bill themselves.

Heavy Rain: Director’s Cut releasing in the US on November 8
Sony has announced the Heavy Rain: Director’s Cut, a package which includes the original game, Heavy Rain Chronicles: Episode 1 – The Taxidermist DLC, the original soundtrack, bonus videos, Move support, dynamic themes, and new concept art, will arrive in US stores on November 8. It will run you $29.99. The PS Store will also have the Heavy Rain Crime Scene Dynamic Theme available for free on that day as well.

Heavy Rain gets toned down edition for France
European game ratings body PEGI’s rated a toned down version of Heavy Rain. The Quantic Dream thriller was given a PEGI 18 (BBFC 15) when it launched last February. Now the new version, Heavy Rain Edition Modifiée, has been given a PEGI 16. This new version does feature “realistic looking violence, nudity of a sexual nature, and strong language,” however. Sony’s told Eurogamer it’s a French-only thing, though.
