Hearts of Iron 3: Their Finest Hour has slots open in the beta, and you could win 10. Winners will also walk away with a complete Hearts of Iron pack or a game of their choice from Paradox. All you have to do to enter, is describe your best moment from any game or expansion in the Hearts of Iron series and explain why this moment has left a “strong impression on your heart of iron.” Details can be found here. Parados has also released a new set of screenshots for the strategy title, which is the third major content release since Hearts of Iron III launched in 2009. Hearts of Iron 3: Their Finest Hour is out sometime later this year.

Paradox Interactive have released a developer diary for the staggeringly open-ended WWII title’s second expansion, For the Motherland, highlighting the new partisan warfare system, improved politics, and resource usurpation.

Digital download sites Steam and Direct2Drive have released charts for week ending August 8.

Looks like Dawn of War II led the group over on Steam, with the Aion Collector’s Edition pre-sale still going strong.

Over on D2D, Champions Online preorders have taken over, with Fallout 3 and the Sims 3 still doing well.
