EEDAR’s put out its US sales estimates for October, predicting a Wii rise of nearly 45 percent to 750,000 units compared to the 519,000 sold in October 2007.

Xbox 360 will take a year-on-year tumble, said the firm, down from 366,000 to 270,000.

PS3, however, should have enjoyed a surge compared to the corresponding previous period, up from 121,000 to 220,000.

Fable II is expected to lead software sales for the month, with 750,000 units estimated.

EEDAR makes August hardware estimates, puts PS3 ahead of 360

EEDAR’s made its August hardware estimates pitching Wii and DS clear of a cumulative 1 million units and PS3 ahead of 360.

DS – 551,000
Wii – 505,000
PSP – 211,000
PS3 – 201,000
360 – 187,000

That Wii figure’s worth watching. EEDAR’s put a note in its press release saying the machine may sell well under 500,000 units due to channel-throttling in advance of Christmas.

We’ll know soon enough. Full thing after the break. Thanks, GoNintendo.

Exclusive: Pachter gives global 2008 hardware sales forecast

Speaking exclusively to videogaming247, Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has released his global hardware sales forecast for 2008.

“I expect US and European Wii sales of 15 million units this year, expect sales of 360 to be 6.8 million, and expect sales of PS3 to be 10.3 million,” he said. “I expect Japanese sales of 3.5 million Wiis, 2.8 million PS3 and 300,000 Xbox 360s.”

Pachter earlier gave total estimates for the two machines in the US and Europe when speaking about projected GTA IV sales, saying that by year-end he expected 16.3 million PS3s and 21.3 million Xbox 360s to be installed in the two main gaming territories outside Japan.

Which is all a tad academic if you’re Nintendo, obviously: another 18.5 million Wii sales this year is hardly going to harm its cause.
