Launched last November on Sony’s service and made free a month later, Halfbrick’s Jetpack Joyride has hit the 2-million download mark, according to Joystiq. The game is wildly popular on all platforms; on Google Play it’s been downloaded more than ten million times. This is a good sign for Sony, because it means folks are actually using PlayStation Mobile, which is accessible on the PS Vita and Sony phones.

As promised, Halfbrick has unveiled its latest game, Fish Out of Water. It looks like a spin on the popular “flinging stuff as far as you can” genre, but with the Australian’s developer’s trademark panache, including a cast of characters with varied abilities; craftable equipment; and dynamic weather. Halfbrick, the Australian developer responsible for Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, Raskulls and Age of Zombies, is teasing its new game. Called Fish Out of Water, the aquatic-themed title is due for reveal in seven days, according to a teaser site. No hard details as yet, but we can probably expect a mobile release.

Ape Entertainment has signed a deal with Fruit Ninja developer, Halfbrick Studios, to create a series of comics and graphic novels based on the popular fruit slicing app.
