Rumour – Killzone 3 confirmed, being aimed for 2011
Take with a serious pinch of salt, but according to Eurogamer.de (via TSA), Guerilla Games has confirmed Killzone 3 on a Dutch TV show.
Animation director Jan-Bart Van Beek was on the said show, and confirmed the existence of the game. He also confirmed they are planning for a 2011 release, although it could be released in 2010. There is no pressure from SCEE to deliver the game for 2010 though, apparently.
Last month, it was reported that the game was in development in the US OPM.
Again, take with a very large pinch of salt. We’ll email SCEE about this one, and see what they have to say.

Sony plans Killzone 2 web game as part of £2m marketing push
As part of SCEE’s £2m Killzone 2 marketing strategy, the company will be releasing a web-game or Firefox and Internet Explorer users that invites players to fight in teams against the ‘Helghast threat.’
“We’re very excited about our online campaign,” Killzone 2’s UK product manager Phil Lynch said today.
“What we’re attempting has never – to my knowledge – been done before, certainly as a piece of communication.
“In essence, we’re creating a web game based on a Firefox and IE app that consumers can download to their computer, and where they can then create their squad consisting of up to three additional friends.
“Once running and activated, and when the user is browsing the internet, their screen will be ‘attacked’ by Helghast as they browse pages,” he went on. “They can alert their squad members to come and help them and if the team can collaboratively vanquish the Helghast threat, they’ll get their score posted onto the leaderboard and be in with a chance to win some prizes and unlock additional content.
“It’s very innovative and something that I believe will resonate with our consumers.”
No date for the web game has been set.
We’ll check with Sony now.
