Guacamelee, Fatal Frame headed to PSN this week
Two pleasant surprises cropped up in the PlayStation release schedule for this week. Almost a full year after announce, Drinkbox’s Guacamelee is headed to PlayStation 3 and Vita, with cross-buy enabled. It’s a Metroidvania starring a pair of luchadores, with a two-world mechanic and an emphasis on melee combat. The classic horror stylings of Tecmo’s Fatal Frame (otherwise known as Project Zero) will join the PlayStation Network’s PS2 Classics range, too.

DrinkBox Studios to release Guacamelee for PS3 and Vita
DrinkBox Studios has announced a “Mexican-themed co-op-multiplayer dimension-swapping Metroid-vania beat-em-up platformer,” titled Guacamelee. The game will be released through the PlayStation Pub Fund program on PSN for both Vita and PS3. The game is set in a world “inspired by Mexican culture,” where a down and out agave farmer named Juan Aguacate sets out to save the world when El Presidente’s Daughter is kidnapped by an Evil Charro Skeleton. The story takes place in and around a small village in Mexico, and has the player travelling through The World of the Living and The World of the Dead in order to rescue the damsel. The game will be shown for the first time at E3 next week. No release date just yet. Watch the trailer below.
