Having already smacked down two scams, Take Two has filed a fresh complaint against a site purporting to offer free Grand Theft Auto 5 beta access. Fusible reports the publisher now has four active cases with the World Intellectual Property Organization over scam websites. You’re unlikely to fall for this kind of nonsense, but don’t let your less-hardcore friends and family get sucked in.

Grand Theft Auto would be harmed if Take-Two pushed for more frequent sequels, the publisher’s chief operating officer Karl Slatoff has said.

In the wake of news that GTA 5 has been delayed from spring into September, the market freaked out a bit, causing stock in Take-Two to fall 7.96%. The market fluctuates, however, and now stock in the firm is only down by 6.47% – so expect it to change again soon. When NASDAQ opened, stock in the firm was trading at $12.99, and now its down to $12.23. Market Watch also reports that shares in GameStop took a tumble with the news as well, falling by 1.7%.

Rockstar has confirmed a September release date for Grand Theft Auto 5, which is a few months away from the initial spring launch window. One analyst thinks the delay points to a next-gen release.

This Thursday the NPD Group will publish its December sales report and according to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter the news will not be cheerful. The decline of Call of Duty and Nintendo’s inability to spark strong sales are just two key areas of concern for the analyst.

Those who plan on pre-ordering Grand Theft Auto 5 and like t-shirts, should consider dropping cash via the Rockstar Warehouse. Why? Because you’ll get a t-shirt featuring the in-game cult Kifflom scrawled across the front of it. The back reads: “The Tract Is Not Yet Written.” The shirt is only available to those in North America, but likely those outside the region can find one on eBay sometime after the game launches.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is sure to add to the tally, but Take Two has revealed a significant new milestone for the franchise to date, which the publisher credits to the careful management of franchise fatigue.

SavyGamer has spotted a discount code allowing you to pre-order Grand Theft Auto 5 at Tesco for just £30 including delivery, well below the £45 standard for high-profile new releases. The UK retail market regularly enters a bloody brawl over major launches as specialist and independent stores struggle to match the deep discounts of large chains. GTA5′s release date isn’t till northern spring 2013, but the battle has apparently begun.

Update: According to GetUpKidAK, a price change means you’ll need to purchase a second item to get the discount.

Grand Theft Auto 5 has been revealed and talked about at great length for a Spring 2013 release on both PS3 and Xbox 360. No mention has been made of PC or Wii U builds however, but Rockstar’s vice-president Dan Houser isn’t necessarily ruling them out. Meanwhile Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime is hopeful Rockstar will join the Wii U party.
