Grinding Gears Games has announced a second season of race events for Path of Exile. Races are short events which start all players off in a fresh economy, giving everyone a chance to hit the top of the leaderboard and score prizes. Season One lasted for 109 events, some as short as minutes and others as long as a week. The schedule for Season Two has now been posted, so mark your calendars. Path of Exile is an indie, free-to-play dungeon crawler.

Path of Exile will receive expansions for somewhere between five and ten years, Grinding Gears boss Chris Wilson told Joystiq at GDC. The dungeon crawler is still in open beta, but is expected to hit version 1.0 later this year, and will add an extra story act at that time; Wilson said that kind of expansion is “probably a once a year thing”. Check out the free-to-play RPG here.
