Gotham City Impostors has arrived on Steam as a free-to-play title. It also includes various upgrade packs from $.99 all the way up to $9.99. Earlier this week, an update in the Steam database registry noted an entry called “Gotham City Impostors F2P Trailer”, basically outing the fact beforehand. Gotham City Impostors was released in February this year on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The latest round of DLC for Gotham City Impostors will bring, for free, Arkham Asylum as a new map to the game. PS3 owners got it last week as a mistake instead of the planned Rodeo Pirate Pack, with 360 to get on May 16 and PC at a TBA date. More details here, and a video is posted below.

Warner has released a new patch and DLC for Gotham City Impostors which contains a new mode called Bounty Hunter, the East End map, as well a mute/unmute functionality within the matchmaking lobby. Monolith and Warner Bros are seeking details of a reported Gotham City Impostors glitch which resets player stats. The problem apparently occurs most often when players have upgraded from a trial to the full version. Losing progress negates the benefits of paid DLC bonuses like XP boosts, so irate users have vocally filled 68 pages on the game’s forums. Warner and DC Entertainment have announced Gotham City Impostors will be available in the US on PSN and PC February 7 and on February 8 on PSN and XBL in Europe. The beta has been running since last week on consoles in the US and went live today on PSN in Europe. Originally slated for a January release, earlier this month the title was moved to February in order to test it a bit more.

Warner and DC Entertainment have announced the Gotham City Impostors console public beta is now available on PSN and the Xbox Live Marketplace. Those interested in joining the Xbox 360 version can sign up here for a chance to receive a key. The PS3 version is available in the PSN and can be downloaded without a key. Here’s the third episode in a series of animated shorts for Gotham City Impostors, Monolith’s mental multiplayer take on the DC canon. Check out the first and second parts, too. The game is expected on PC, the PlayStation Netwok and Xbox Live Arcade in January, and kicks off a beta test this month.
