The US PS Blog‘s announced that a demo for the God of War: Origins Collection will be releasing on PlayStation Network. PS Plus subscribers will be able to download it as early as tomorrow, and it’ll be made available for the general public on September 6. The demo will feature a level from Ghost of Sparta, and will come with 3D support. God of War Origins, which is a compilation of two PSP GoW titles: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, releases on September 13 in the US.

Not content with the Team ICO blowout, IGN’s gone live with ten minutes worth of footage from the God of War Origins pack. The pair, which will release as God of War Collection Vol 2 in Europe, will come with remasters of the two PSP titles in Kratos’ adventures: Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta. Word over on The Magic Box has Sony announcing a God of War Portable Collection slated to land on the Asian market July 7. The collections is said to include God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta with enhanced graphics specifically for PS3. Yes, it says it is coming to PS3. We’ll send a mail and ask, so in the meantime, keep this in your hand as “possible” until we get official word, as we have yet to see the announcement mentioned elsewhere. Thanks, Gek.

Three dimensions can barely contain Kratos’ brand of raw fury, so cramming him into two dimensions probably would’ve been a bit like trapping a charging bull in a cage made out of China shops. Even so, Ready at Dawn momentarily considered flirting with that particular disaster while developing God of War: Chains of Olympus.

Sony has sent over a bit of PSPgo launch information to IGN that you may find interesting.

On October 1, 16,000 pieces of digital content will be available for the PSPgo in the US which includes:

• 225 games (combination of full PSP titles, PSN exclusives, UMD legacy titles and Minis)
• 2,300 movies
• 13,300 television episodes
• Gran Turismo, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and God of War: Chains of Olympus
• PlayStation Network Game Cards allowing the download of games like Gran Turismo, Daxter, Patapon 2, Secret Agent Clank and Twisted Metal: Head-on.

PSP-4000. It’s got a slide screen. It’s got shoulder buttons. Dave Perry is its best friend. Does God of War: Chains of Olympus developer Ready at Dawn know anything about it? No. It doesn’t.

“You know, the way these things work is that, ironically, even if there was a new PSP in the works we would probably be the last people to find out about it,” company CEO Didier Malenfant told Edge yesterday.

“I really have no clue what Sony’s plans are.”

Ready at Dawn is being rumoured as working on a second God of War game for PSP at the moment, so you kind of may have thought it’d know something about it.

Whatever. PSP-4000 will be announced at E3, God willing.

Rumor says that Ready at Dawn will be bringing everyone’s favorite Spartan back to PSP.

Supposedly, the God of War: Chains of Olympus developer is hard at work on another installment in the series.

RaD co-founder, Didier Malenfant, responded to these chatter with: “You know that even if we were [making the game], I couldn’t answer your question.”

An unnamed Joystiq informant also mentioned that the game may be revealed in some form at E3 in June.

Fingers crossed.

God of War: Chains of Olympus developer Ready at Dawn has officially finished developing games for PSP.

As you can see on the firm’s website, dev kits are now back in their boxes and the company’s ready to move on.

“With Chains of Olympus going Gold in Japan, we’re now officially done with PSP development,” said a post on the site. “So today we sent all our devkits back and seeing all these boxes ready to be picked up definitely marks the end of an era here at Ready At Dawn.

“Can’t wait to show you guys what we have in store.”

According to this, GT5: Prologue and God of War: Chains of Olympus are launching in India on the same day as Europe. As in, tomorrow. There’s a report there from the launch event in Mumbai. Expect to see plenty more from the Indian games industry in the coming years, especially if companies like Sony keep managing to achieve simultaneous releases between Europe and the Subcontinent.

Looks as though you may not want to hold your breath if you’re banking on a European version of the MGS4 or God of War: Chains of Olympus bundles announced in the US yesterday.

“We have no plans to release either bundle at the moment,” a SCEE spokesperson told videogaming247.

If we were betting men, and we’re not, we could speculate that this may mean MGS4 isn’t going to release in Europe until the back half of the year. Nicht so gut.

Update: Or maybe not. Konami has previously announced that MGS4 is “due for a simultaneous worldwide release early in 2008.” Hold that thought.

According to this, God of War: Chains of Olympus on PSP is a tad short, weighing in at less than five hours. Doesn’t sound too wonderful in the back half, either.

“Yes, it’s a very good game that perfectly replicates the feel of GoW’s combat on the portable,” said Wired’s Chris Kohler. “But it’s also hard to ignore that by the end of the game, any semblance of creative level design goes out the window, replaced with a never-ending gauntlet of big open rooms filled with enemies.”

That red PSP’s not looking so hot after all.

According to this, SCEA’s going to release a new PSP pack around God of War: Chains of Olympus, to include a “Deep Red” PSP with Kratos ‘silk-screened’ on the back, a copy of the game, Superbad UMD, and a PSN voucher to download Syphon Filter: Combat Ops from the PC PlayStation Store. The bundle will be priced at $199.99.

Come on, SCEE. Announce something.
