Warhammer Online gets Asian launch next week

Warhammer Online is to launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau next week via GigaMedia’s FunTown game platform, Kotaku reports.
The Mythic MMO currently has around 300,000 subs in the US.

WAR beta set to launch in Taiwan

Warhammer Online’s Taiwanese beta’s to go live on April 14, according to this press release.
“Since day one, it’s been our goal to make the Age of Reckoning a global phenomenon,” said Mythic boss Mark Jacobs.
“The closed beta in Taiwan brings more players around the world the chance to answer one very simple question: who do you fight for – Order or Destruction?”
Should bump the game’s figures up a bit. We hope.

GigaMedia to operate Warhammer MMO in Far East
EA’s signed a deal with GigaMedia to handle Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. According to this press release, a date for the game is to be announced in “the months ahead”. The MMO, being developed by Mythic, is based on the Games Workshop pen and paper RPG universe and signals EA’s first big leap into MMO-dom.


EA has no Wii U games in the works, including FIFA 14
