English localization of Dragon’s Dogma was inspired by works of George R.R. Martin
Capcom has released a new developer diary for Dragon’s Dogma, in which the team outlines the daunting task of localizing the game’s 42,000 lines of dialogue into six different languages. According to to the post, the English speech patterns in the 20 hours of voiced dialogue across 400 characters contain a “high fantasy” feel, as the writers were heavily influenced by the works of A Song of Ice and Fire author, George R.R. Martin. It’s a very interesting read, and you can run your eyes over it yourself through Capcom Unity. Game’s out in May, and a demo will be available for you to try globally via Xbox Live and through the North American PS Store April 24. It will be available on the European PS Store the following day, April 25.
