The opening chapter from the Gears of War 3 DLC RAAM’s Shadow has been videoed, and is posted below in three-parts,courtesy of Ve3tro. The campaign takes place before the events of the first Gears, and will last around three hours. It will also include six new multiplayer characters, the Chocolate Weapon Skin Set and an additional 250 Gamerscore. RAAM’s Shadow is set for release on XBL December 13 and it will cost you 1200 MSP.

“I’d say that we’re putting the third game in a series that in many ways helped to define a console generation. Not completely, but if you look at the art style in Gears, and the cover system – I think a lot of games were positively influenced by it. To have that influence on the business is incredibly flattering, both for myself and everyone who works at Epic. [However] we need to remain humble and cautiously optimistic about every part that comes out and hope that it has an impact on the industry. If we ever come out and say: ‘this is gonna change your life, it’s gonna change you’re children’s children’s lives’ – gamers aren’t gonna buy it.
