Drive boss Raeburn leaves Codies – official statement
Driving dev boss Gavin Raeburn has left Codemasters, the company has confirmed to VG247.
“After successfully rebooting two of Codemasters’ heritage franchises as DiRT and GRID, Executive Producer Gavin Raeburn has moved on to pastures new,” said Gavin Cheshire, VP of Codemasters Development.
“Following the recent success of the award winning DiRT 2, it’s positive for any individual to move when they feel they’re at the top.
“He leaves having built an incredibly talented team that’s led by key players who will drive our racing portfolio forward. He has my best wishes and our thanks for all the successes enjoyed during his time at Codemasters.”
Raeburn’s been with Codemasters forever. He’s credited on 1988′s Pro Skateboard Simulator, and has since charted a career that’s seen him work on Stunt Kids, Psycho Pinball, TOCA 2: Touring Car Challenge, Jarrett and Labonte Stock Car Racing, Pro Race Driver, DiRT and GRID.
There’s no word on where he’s off to. All the best, Gavin, whatever it is.

F1 2010 gets concept art

A couple of pieces of what looks to be concept are for Codemaster’s F1 series have eeked out courtesy of Famistu, reports CVG.
This is the first piece of media released since exec producer Gavin Raeburn said that F1 2010 “the best F1 game ever” and “literally nothing less will do.
“F1 games haven’t set the world alight over the last decade and we think that the sport deserves a game which really captures its excitement and glamour.”
F1 2010 will be out of PS3 and Xbox 360 next year with F1 2009 ready to hit Wii and PSP in autumn.

DiRT 2 DLC confirmed

Codemasters plans to release multiple downloadable content packs for Dirt 2 after the game’s September release.
“We have plans to launch a number of small DLC packs soon after launch which players can use to personalize and augment the boxed game,” dev boss Gavin Raeburn told CVG.
The game was shown in the US this week as part of Codemasters’ Gamer Day.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 announced, first shots, interview
Codemasters has announced Colin McRae: DiRT 2 for Xbox 360, PC, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP in 2009.
According to this IGN report, “Exploring various disciplines of off-road racing, Colin McRae: DiRT 2 will utilise an enhanced version of the EGO engine that was last seen in the impressive looking GRID, and will feature comprehensive online modes that promise to be a marked improvement over those in the original.”
There’s an interview with long-time McRae dev lead Gavin Raeburn elsewhere on IGN, as well as the first screens.
