Called the Little Big Bunch, the collection will include other titles from Indiana studio Mommy’s Best Games and Oxfordshire’s New Star Games.

Users will be able to pay whatever they wish for the bundle, even deciding how much goes to the developer and how much should go to GamesAid.

“This is a great initiative for GamesAid and I would like to say a massive thanks to the indie developers who have kindly put their games into Little Big Bunch,” said GamesAid trustee Ian Livingstone.

The game’s regular asking price of $14.99 has been reduced by 67 percent to $4.99 for the duration of the sale. You have until 4:00 PM PST on Thursday to cash in on this bargain.

Proceeds will go to “industry-supported charities”, including GamesAid. The initiative is part of a Codemasters fundraising drive.

Codemasters recently announced it would close down the game’s multiplayer servers for PC and PlayStation 3, but the PC side of things has since been resurrected by GameRanger.

Third Annual GamesAid Charity Poker Tournament at the Develop Conference in Brighton

London, 29 June 2010 – GamesAid, a UK games industry charity for children and young people, is proud to announce its third annual charity poker tournament to be held at the Develop Conference in Brighton. Sponsored by Relentless Software and Eurogamer, the event will take place from 8pm on the evening of Tuesday 13th July at the Grosvenor Casino on the Brighton Seafront.

The Tournament Prize structure has been confirmed as follows: first place to win £400, second place to win £200, third place to win £100, fourth place to win a range of Blu-ray and DVDs, and fifth place to win four tickets for a Liverpool FC Stadium tour and museum visit, as well as a number of exciting prizes made available throughout the night. All levels of players are welcome with a table dedicated to beginners.

Last year raised close to £5,000 for GamesAid, and with up to 50 of the games industry’s finest expected to attend this year’s event, that amount is expected to be surpassed.

The game is Texas Hold ‘Em no limit with a £50 buy-in with cash re-buys and add-ons available on the night.

GamesAid, a game industry charity that aims primarily to help children, has finally figured out a way to make raising money X-treme: by scaling large rocks in dangerously small amounts of time. Rad.

Martyn Northall, Richard Slater, Matt West-Robinson and Dermot Stapleton, employees of Just Flight and Mastertronic, are set to tackle the aptly named Three Peaks Challenge, GI.biz reports. They’ll be scaling three mountains — a total of 26 miles — in under 24 hours. We’re not even sure rockets can move upward that quickly.

The companies are the first to join the GamesAid Company Partnership Scheme and have provided services and financial contributions key to the launch and ongoing success of the popular games industry charity.

The UK’s Princess Anne formally opened the Paddington Academy today.

The specialist school for performing arts, media, business and enterprise was co-funded by the United Learning Trust and GamesAid.

Official classes started in 2007, but the ribbon cutting did not occur until today, with a ceremony attended by volunteers and philanthropists.

“The Academy has been one of the focal points for money raised by our industry over a number of years,” said ELSPA chairman Andy Payne. “It’s a very proud day for everyone involved and a real thrill to be here to witness such a positive learning environment.

Communications agency Bastion is auctioning off a life-size Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow statue in order to raise money for the GamesAid charity.

The bidding on Ebay is now at £130 which is nothing these days, so you’ve really got no excuses.

GamesAid “distributes funds to a diverse range of charities; it is a means of giving something back on behalf of the industry.”
