GAME “not gone,” says CEO Shepherd in response to MCV

Following MCV revealing it’s “Gone” cover in relation to GAME’s current financial woes, Ian Shepherd, CEO of the retailer, has retweeted a modified version of the mag’s design saying it’s “the cover MCV should have done.” It was confirmed today that both Microsoft and Activision have pulled support for the store.

GAME is “gone,” says MCV

MCV’s Chris Dring just posted a shot of the UK trade mag’s latest cover on Twitter, in response to the apparently imminent collapse of retailer GAME. Latest news is that both Activision and Microsoft have pulled support from the store. While US retailer Walmart and Comet owner OpCapita are reportedly interested in moving in for the firm, the situation now looks dire.

GAME, GameStation sites go down for maintenance, come back
GAME and GameStation‘s websites are now back online after a brief period of maintenance. The group told MCV the downtime was as a result of a fault, adding “the web service will resume imminently”. It’s been reported this weekend that the retailer has put itself for sale. Share prices have hit 0.5p this morning.

GAME stock drops to 0.5p
UK retailer GAME, apparently on its very last legs after reports this weekend pegged the chain for imminent bankruptcy, has seen its stock plummet to a record low of 0.5 pence this morning. The shares closed Friday at 3.51 pence. Thanks, MCV.
