Gamasutra won the graph war. The site’s posted up its March NPD analysis feature, having acquired ex-Edge chart-man Kris Graft earlier this month. There will be no more silo face-off in the world of NPD analysis.

All that’s left is scorched earth. Scorched earth covered in coloured graphs. Take a look. Remember the good times.

Former US Edge Online editor Kris Graft has taken on the roll of Content Director for the Independent Games Festival, and as Senior Contributing Editor for Gamasutra.

His main focus with the IGF will be expanding the judge panel and providing creative feedback on the event.

Graft’s contributions to Gamasutra will be daily.

Let’s see. The figures were in our inbox at 10.29pm GMT last night, and Edge now has a four-page feature, coloured graphs included, at 8.00am GMT. That probably equates to author Kris Graft crying into his cornflakes.

Having been pipped to the January NPD analysis post by Edge’s Kris Graft last week, Gamasutra’s posted up its exclusive Matt Mathews feature on the US sales numbers.

As ever, it’s a solid effort. Nice graphs. Sombre colouring. Great pies. Very authoritative. Not as Day-glo as the Edge piece, but you can’t have everything.

Following news earlier this week that Yu Suzuki hasn’t been working at Sega for ages, Sega US boss Simon Jeffery has retracted the statement – made in a Gamasutra interview – to say that he was essentially wrong.

“I can safely say that Yu Suzuki is in fact still a Sega employee,” he said, adding that Suzuki “is a Creative Officer of Sega Corp.”

Jeffery said in the original interview that Suzuki was “kind of his own man right now. Every now and again, he’ll come up with an idea, and I don’t think anything has come out of that yet, but we’re still working with him. He’s not an employee any more.”

Shenmue III will release on Dreamcast II in the third quarter.

Kotaku stalwart Leigh Alexander has left the blog for a role as news director at the CMP-owned B2B site, Gamasutra.

She sent out an email last week confirming the move, which was effective as of August 1, saying she’d miss her colleagues at Kotaku but was excited about the new job.

Alexander became one of the most recognisable names on Kotaku thanks to her extensive business reporting.
