G4 being rebranded in April, gaming content to cease
Popular online gaming channel G4 is to be rebranded as the Esquire Network from April 22, and will cease all game programming.

G4 rebranded as Esquire Channel, launches during first half of 2013
G4 will be turned into the Esquire Channel during the first half of 2013, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Owners NBCUniversal and Hearst will use the channel to court the untapped “metrosexual” demographic with shows devoted to “cooking, travel and fashion,” and some gaming-centric offerings as well. G4 staples Attack of the Show and X-Play have been cancelled, and will no longer air past the end of 2012.

G4 promises 14 hours of live E3 conference streaming

G4′s going to be streaming all the major press conferences live from E3, promising 14 hours of video from the Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo shows.

G4 named official broadcaster of E3 2009, will cover Nintendo conference live

G4 has been named the official broadcaster of E3 2009.
The cable channel will be broadcasting the Nintendo conference live, along with the following schedule:
- Over 22 hours of live coverage
- Steve Wiebe live world record Donkey Kong high score attempt
- Live on-air coverage of five major press conferences, including Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo
- G4TV.com to stream all E3 press conferences live and unedited
- Hands-on game demos
- Exclusive interviews with top gaming executives
Coverage kicks of Monday, June 1, and continues through Thursday, June 4.
Looks like no Ninja Warrior for us those nights. Cry.

G4 to exclusively broadcast Dev Choice Awards on TV

G4 will be broadcasting the 9th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards on national television.
Taking place on Wednesday, March 25 during GDC, the ceremony will be aired by X-Play’s Adam Sessler on Friday, April 10 at 6.30pm PST.
Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango, Psychonauts) will be presiding over the evening.

G4 squashes 360 relaunch rumor
Don’t worry, everyone; the Internet is safe. This unrealistically tantalizing piece of hearsay is totally bunk, according to G4.
“We currently do not have anything planned in conjunction with Microsoft for September 25,” a G4 rep told Kotaku. “I can’t speak for Microsoft but can say we do not have anything planned.”
We’re as shocked as you are.

Five minutes of awesome HD direct feed inFAMOUS gameplay posted
Wow. G4′s posted up almost five minutes of inFAMOUS gameplay, and it still looks brilliant. Whoever’s playing it might want to get some skillz, like, but there’s no denying there’s major promise here. Massive city, transport systems, lovely gritty feel, super-powers and lots of climbing add up to “game we want to play”. So watch this, definitely.
PS3-only, beginning of next year.

This can’t happen soon enough. Capcom’s put out new video of the sensational-looking Resident Evil 5, and we reckon you’d have to be dead inside (geddit?) to be stoical. Movie’s after the break, courtesy of G4. Game’s out in February.

G4 announces E3 coverage schedule, live streaming of all conferences
US TV channel G4′s announced its schedule for E3 coverage this year, and it looks extensive. All of the conferences are being broadcast without commercials, a good thing. Hit the link for all the details.
Better, though, is a promise that all press conferences will be streamed live on the firm’s site, and not just the platform holder affairs. Amazing news, and a first. Go through and look for yourself. Looks like E3′s coming to you this time.

G4 showing first GTA IV gameplay footage this Sunday
G4 will show the first footage of GTA IV being played this week, according to the TV service. From the site:
