Japanese gaming sites are saying that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete sold 100,000 copies on its first day.
The movie was sold as a standalone title, a special edition with a FFXIII demo, and as a bundle with a Cloud Black PS3 console.
No word yet on which one of the products moved most, or how many copies were exported.
Advent Children Complete is expected to be released outside of Japan in June. Demoless, of course.

1UP’s got a Cloud Black PS3, the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete special edition hardware.
It cost 49,980 yen. It’s got a “Cloudy Wolf” emblem on it. You probably can’t have one. Business does not get more serious than this.
Watch it being unwrapped here.

We saw this at the weekend, but it seemed a bit sketchy so we didn’t do it. Everyone else seems to think it’s real, though, so what the hey.

Movie Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, replete with its Final Fantasy XIII demo, will release on April 16 in Japan.
Square Enix confirmed the date today, IGN reports.
The demo’s exact content is unknown as yet, but should be playable on any PS3 despite only being available in Japan.
The full version of Final Fantasy XIII will release this year in Japan, with overseas versions arriving “in the business year from April 2010 or later,” according to Square Enix president Yoichi Wada recently.
Advent Children complete will be available as a standalone Blu-ray movie or as part of a hardware bundle, for those that bleed Cloud. There’s a shot of the limited edition hardware on Kotaku.

Bit sketchy this, but there we are. Finalfantasy-xiii.net‘s reporting that Dengeki’s recent interview with FFXIII chap Nomura includes a quote that says the game’s demo may be sold separately.
The taster’s going to be included in the Blu-ray release of Advent Children: Complete in Japan next March, so reaction that you may be able buy it as a standalone product is likely to be mixed.

According to this PSU story, the next issue of Famitsu confirms that the March FFXIII demo in Japan will last longer than the CGI movie it ships with, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete.
From the piece:
Currently the original Advent Children film clocks in at a runtime of 101mins; however, the Blu-ray version of the movie will feature scenes that were either cut completely or not finished in time for the initial release, resulting in a significantly longer runtime.
