Square Enix has announced, via way of this week’s Dengeki magazine, it’s bringing Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and Theatrhtrhm: Final Fantasy for 3DS to Tokyo Game Show. Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Final Fantasy Type-0 will also be on the show. All of the games mentioned will be playable in an Open Theater SE is bringing to the show. As already noted this morning, there will be no Final Fantasy Versus XIII, though.

Square Enix will release a demo of Final Fantasy Type-0 before the game’s launch in Japan, according to leaks from the latest issue of Famitsu (via Andriasang). The demo, unlike Dissidia 012′s prologue demo, will be free for all users to download. A timeline or date isn’t given for the taster’s release, but you can probably bet it’ll be September if it’s before release.

Final Fantasy Type-0 launches on October 13 for PSP in Japan. A western release hasn’t yet been confirmed.

Famitsu’s gone up with a seven-minute long gameplay video of Final Fantasy Type-0 after the game’s announcement of a release date earlier this morning. Game director Hajime Tabata is the one behind the stick and doing the honours on commentary. Bear in mind it’s moonspeak, so don’t expect to understand too much – or anything – at all. After zillions of years in development and a full-blown platform switcheroo, the finish line is finally in sight for Final Fantasy Type-0. Andriasang reports that Square Enix has given the tamely named (at least, in comparison to Theatrhythm and [duodecim]) RPG a Japanese release date of October 13. It’s tipping the scales at two UMDs, too, so it’ll carry a higher-than-normal 7700 yen price tag.

Famitsu‘s gone live with an article full of info and 15 new screens of Final Fantasy Type-0. GAF‘s managed to translate one info nugget from the piece: if you kill the commander of an enemy unit, the rest of the unit will surrender, which will then allow you to gather info from them.
