FIFA 13 has a number of cross format profile features that allow players to interact – be they on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and more – but actually being able to play matches across those formats in future is wishful thinking, FIFA’s executive producer has said.

Consolidate, the Swedish eSports event, has added Modern Warfare 3 to the event alongside previously announced titles Gears of War 3, Super Street Fighter IV and FIFA 12. Prizes include items from Plantronics, as well as 15,000 SEK in prize money to be shared with the winners in the individual games. UEFA Euro 2012 has launched on Xbox Live Marketplace this morning, as promised. The tournament tie-in, an expansion for FIFA 12 rather than a full game this time round, comes in at 656Mb at a tag of 1800 MS points alongside a trial version of it. The release comes ahead of Euro’s launch in Poland and Ukraine in June. Get it queued here. It’s also launched a day earlier than expected on PSN for £15.99. The trial version is also available on the store for PS3 owners.

This year’s FIFA Interactive World Cup finals will take place in Dubai, MCV Pacific reports. The site says the Emirates was chosen over London in the race to host the tournament. Los Angeles was last year’s host city. It’ll take place in Jumeirah Beach Hotel between May 21-23.

For example: Gary Cahill is now at Chelsea from Bolton, Louis Saha from Everton to Spurs and Bobby Zamora from Fulham to QPR. Man United legend Paul Scholes, who had previously retired, is now back in the game’s main roster after his return.

ERA’s 2011 UK Entertainment reports shows that between its release on November 8 through the end of 2011, Modern Warfare 3 moved 2,814,609 units in the region, a number which falls 451,789 copies short of its predecessor, Black Ops for the same period in 2010, when it moved 3,266,298 copies. The Call of Duty series wasn’t the only franchise to note a slump compared to a previous release, as EA’s FIFA 12 sold 196,929 copies less than FIFA 11, which moved 2,193,302 units for the same period in 2010. The numbers reflect the downward trend of UK game sales, which were down 13% in 2011 year-over-year. Thanks MCV.
