A new update for FIFA 12 has launched, updating team rosters for the game following the January transfer window. For example: Gary Cahill is now at Chelsea from Bolton, Louis Saha from Everton to Spurs and Bobby Zamora from Fulham to QPR. Man United legend Paul Scholes, who had previously retired, is now back in the game’s main roster after his return.

You can get the update through Menu – Customise FIFA > Edit Teams > Change Squads/Rosters > Download Updates. The update also applies to FIFA Football on Vita. Thanks,

ERA’s 2011 UK Entertainment reports shows that between its release on November 8 through the end of  2011, Modern Warfare 3 moved 2,814,609 units in the region, a number which falls 451,789 copies short of its predecessor, Black Ops for the same period in 2010, when it moved 3,266,298 copies. The Call of Duty series wasn’t the only franchise to note a slump compared to a previous release, as EA’s FIFA 12 sold 196,929 copies less than FIFA 11, which moved 2,193,302 units for the same period in 2010.  The numbers reflect the downward trend of UK game sales, which were down 13% in 2011 year-over-year. EA has announced the EA Sports Challenge Series, a sports game tournament series with $1 million in cash and prizes going to the most skilled Madden NFL 12, NHL 12 and FIFA 12 gamers on PS3.

EA released a rather large patch for FIFA 12 yesterday, and it seems to be causing the game to crash. According to the firm, the culprit is mismatched data in Creation Centre content when downloaded before installing the patch. The firm said in order to stop the crashing, delete said content from your system and re-download it. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, CVG has you covered.

Kotaku’s reporting that FIFA 12 has received a playable demo from Gaikai that can be accessed via YouTube. The demo, which was tweeted out earlier by Gaikai CEO Dave Perry, lets you play using any OS and browser. Get details here. The demo’s only available for the US and Canada right now, though.

EA’s confirmed details of a console patch for FIFA 12, mentioning it will have “big corrections” within the game. An update before that will help fix add-on FIFA Ultimate Team, which users have been complaining of being unable to access since launch last week. An update will also be released that will fix issues with the PC version, such as unneeded large downloads and disconnects on Origin, with exploits for Be a Pro goalkeeper also to be fixed as well.
