Bethesda concept artist Adam Adamowicz passes away after battle with cancer
Bethesda concept artist Adam Adamowicz, who created amazing art for Fallout 3, Skyrim and other Bethesda titles, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. The sad news was quietly announced by Pete Hines after Skyrim won big during the Academy of Arts & Sciences awards at DICE. A lovely tribute to the man who helped create some of the wonderful games we enjoy, and written by a fellow concept artist, can be found over on Awesome Robo. Our thoughts and most sincere condolences go out to each one of his family and friends.

Fallout: Nuka Break fan film

It may technically be Wednesday where I’m sitting, but I live in the future so I’m calling it Tight Arse Tuesday. Today’s feature is even thriftier than discount cinema tickets as the wonders of the Internet hand it over entirely free of charge and with nary a family-friendly Ashton Kutcher in sight.
What Fallout: Nuka Break delivers instead is ghouls, shooting, radiated recovery items, informative Pip Boy segments, astounding production values and laughs. See the whole fan-made film through the break.

Bethesda clarifies Skyrim’s enemy level-scaling feature

Most RPGs have a built-in reward for your painstaking efforts to grow stronger than the fierce, two-foot-tall sewer rats of the world: you get to beat the stuffing out of the baddies who hung you from flagpoles and gave you swirlies back in the day.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, though? Not so much.

In a chat on console RPG development between Irrational legend Ken Levine and Bethesda’s Todd Howard, the Fallout 3 boss has said console players want RPG experiences that are just as deep as their PC counterparts, but developers “need to ease them in a bit more.”
Levine, however, said console gamers just “don’t have the patience to wade through the introduction of systems.”

Fallout 3 saves on PS3 not transferring for GOTY edition in Canada

According to a couple bits of commenting over on Bethesda’s forums, PS3 owners in Canada are having issues importing save games for Fallout 3 to the GOTY edition.
It looks as though previous Capital Wasteland save files are not being recognized, and forum posters suspect that it’s due to either improper/outdated patching or the GOTY edition isn’t compatible with the version of the GOTY sold in the region.
Bethesda is aware of the issue and is trying to figure things out before making an official statement.
For more on this, hit the link.
Thanks, Joystiq.

Fallout 3′s Game of the Year edition, featuring the game and all five content packs, will release on October 16 for PC, 360 and PS3.

Fallout 3 PS3 patched to 1.61
The PS3 version of Fallout 3′s been patched to version 1.61, according to this Fallout.Wikia post.
The update’s added a proper Trophy menu, apparently, as well as a Download section under the main menu.
The kids over there are speculating that this means the arrival of the PS3 version of Broken Steel’s imminent. Bethesda’s never dated the DLC, but we’d say it was a fair assumption.
Thanks, Monk.

New Bethesda game to be announced in “the next month or so”

Fallout 3′s through. Over and done. So, what bomb is Bethesda dropping on the videogame world next? Well, we don’t really know. And Bethesda’s not telling. For now, anyway.
However, MTV Multiplayer sends word that we’ll hear something from Bethesda “in the next month or so.” What will it be? Well, according to Pete Hines, it won’t be an iPhone project or Todd Howard and co.’s next big thing.
Perhaps it’s that Wii game we’ve been waiting so long to hear about?
