Persona 2: Eternal Punishment to be downloadable for PSP, Vita next week
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment will available through the PS Store for Vita and PSP next week. Now, users can download the title without having to transfer the game from their PS3. The game was released last month for all three platforms, but a compatibility issue prevented users from playing it on the handhelds. Come March 12, though, that will no longer be the case. Thanks, Joystiq.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment – Sony working on compatibility issues with PSP, Vita
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, which was released this week on PSN as a PSone classic, isn’t compatible with Vita or PSP as of yet. While it’s playable on PS3, Sony said it is working on a fix which will make the game playable on the portable systems, as was promised when it was announced. According to a post on the PS forums from community manager Morgan Haro, “worst case scenario” is that it may be a few weeks before you can take your Persona 2: Eternal Punishment on-the-go. We’ll keep on top of this for you, and as soon as we hear anything more, we’ll let you know. Thanks, Joystiq.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin data can be imported into Eternal Punishment
A feature included in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment will allow players to import save data from Persona 2: Innocent Sin into the game. According to Atlus, you won’t have had to beat the game either in order to take advantage of the feature, as all it needs are stats and level data. The “fusion skill list, monster conversation commands, and spare tarot cards,” will also transfer into Eternal Punishment, reports Siliconera, and it is being hinted that some of the save data transferred may change some of the scenes as well. Eternal Punishment releases in Japan on PSP May 17.
