Eskil Steenberg, the single programmer behind the unusual collaborative building MMO Love, has said his game is a “B- in a genre no one else has gotten a D in”, and that he’s touched the “bleeding edge of what is possible”.

What is love? No idea. But Eskil Steenberg’s lovely MMO called Love is now cheaper and better than ever. So take that, Valentine’s Day.

Markus “Notch” Persson has enlisted the help of fellow Swede and Love-maker Eskil Steenberg to improve Minecraft’s graphics
“I was asked to help them use a few graphics extensions in OpenGL,” Steenberg told Eurogamer. “I’m probably gonna help him with some graphic stuff. He actually asked me to help him with some stuff.”
Minecraft looks as though it was drawn in crayon. It’s sold more than 1 million copies. There are more quotes through there.

You can now pay €3 to actually play one-man MMO Love’s alpha. Yep, it’s true. Look at RPS.
Developer Eskil Steenberg, the only person working on the indie game, has opened up the non-playable alpha to allow people to properly test it, but wants a bit of cash as servers, obviously, cost money.
Help him out. It’s one pint less this week.

Tiny-teamed MMO Love is available for download now. Sort of.
You won’t be able to log on and play in this “open alpha”, but you will be able to run the art-game’s engine on your PC.
“The client will contact my master server and send the name of your graphics card and if its supports the three OpenGL extensions I use (FBO, VBOs and GLSL), no other user data, ip addresses, or anything else is collected. This data will also let me count you in order to estimate how many servers I will need,” said Eskil Steenberg, the game’s sole developer.
Love’s about walking round a painting and overthrowing an empire, pretty much. Read more about it here.

RPS is hosting the first ever trailer of Love, the indie MMO currently being developed by Eskil Steenberg. On his own.
Take a look. If there’s something you’re going to see this year that looks “different,” this is it. It’s got the same sort of desirable quality you get from see new tech for the first time.
No date. Does it even need one?
Steenberg’s site is here.
