Epic Citadel now available on Android
Epic has released an Android version of its mobile Unreal Engine tech demo, Epic Citadel. The explorable environment shows off what Epic’s graphics tech can do with the limited power of smartphones and tablets, and now includes a benchmarking mode. It’s the first Epic-produced release on Android, and may herald the release of Epic’s previously iOS-exclusive Infinity Blade games. See a trailer and screenshots through the break.

Epic Games has announced the release of Epic Citadel for Android devices, which is the free app used to demonstrate the studio’s Unreal Engine 3 tech.

Epic Games and NVIDIA presented the first public demonstration of Unreal Engine 3 running on Windows 8 and Windows RT during Asus’ press conference at the IFA 2012 electronics trade show in Berlin. The live, real-time demonstration of the Epic Citadel app was shown running on the lovely Asus Vivo Tab RT. You can see it below in the video. Epic also announced that Unreal Engine 3 licensees may access Windows RT code at the Unreal Developer Network, and senior technical artist and level designer, Alan Willard, will showcase the Unreal Engine 4 “Elemental” real-time demonstration at PAX Prime on September 1, at NVIDIA’s booth from 12.30 to 1.30pm.
